a brocken neck. the death would be an instant one. but a broken heart means dying every single moment for i don't know how long. and the cracks become deeper and hurt more and more. after literal death you have to deal with nothing. but even if your heart is broken you still have to deal with reality than rest on a nice, comfortable cloud

Quite the opposite to you, i would choose A broken heart.
Because i know that i would have the courage to pull myself together and achieve something so that others wouldnt have to feel the sorrow that i feel. become a mute. i could not live without being able to listen to music and to nature. but even if i could not speak with my voice i would speak with my eyes. and i would still be able to write of course. and many people don't hear us when we speak, so the inability to speak would really not make a difference...
