Hmmm... will "tinker" with some other ideas for the ending... I'm using a 2x a-h rhyme scheme so there aren't too many solutions. I liked the idea of the protagonist staying or straying 'there' often... perhaps some otherworldly solution I haven't thought of yet.

On the open tv channel Globo I'm used to watch the news and the soap operas. Sometimes I watch also old soapys that are shown again or very seldom old movies in the afternoon session. But right now I'm angry with Globe because they are cutting on entertainment because of the world cup. They used to do this very rarely in the past when Brasil was playing. Now they do this with as much of the games as possible and there has to be a pre game program, an after game program and a sports central where everything has to be intensely discussed. :(

re: "in dreams far more than flights / of fancy for I have often stayed" How about a soft rhyme solution somehow substituting "stayed" with "remain" or "remained" somehow ("masquerade" rhyme) ?

re: b a n n e d - I know, the algorithm tickles me sometimes. A few times when editing I'll put the word "indent" in the reason why I'm editing and that alone will trigger it. Also using the word "b a n n e d" will sometimes do it... I see it as a challenge :)
"yearned" is a possibility... it's just a bit of a stretch for a rhyme... I'll keep thinking :)

Re: Rhyme: No, it's not necessary... It was just something that evolved after I came up with your this/that question - the rhyme simply came to mind in this instance after the first a-h stanza... perhaps it wouldn't be heresy if the 'h' rhyme' was ignored... more food for thought :)
Ok, I've made a revision, and a tweak or two, that might be an improvement and keep my rhyme scheme intact:
a færie costume ball; many with / clothes made of spider's silk, / flower petals, and starlight - / their masks fashioned from / mystic ebon forest shadows on / moonless mid-summer nights / to complete the masquerade
some might consider this a myth - / but maidens with limbs of milk / and an elemental guardian sprite / have danced with me to the drum, / viol, and flute long past dawn / dreamlike - far more than flights / of fancy upon the færie esplanade
Rhyme has its place, I especially like internal rhymes, but more of my poetry lately (I think) is tending toward free verse, especially my minimalistic poetry.

That sounds so much better now, the verse flows, the first ending seemed a bit abrupt to me.

I think, I used an Brazilian expression in English by mistake. I wanted to distinguish the poetry that deals with personal matters like feelings, impressions, personal experience from a poetry that deals with universal matters like history or social poetry. But one can also regard a metaphor or an image as a sort of code I think, so it also falls in with the definition you found.
Theorically both themes are very interesting. But they would be new subjects to me and sometimes I feel that my head has difficulty in holding the already acquired knowledge.

Bottled mineral water... I became ill, perhaps psychosomatically, very recently when I drank from a fountain - after which I noticed the water was a milky consistency. I was told later that "air had gotten into the water line" which didn't assuage my tummy.

Maybe there was something more than air in that water because of its milkiness. When my family lived in Campos do Jordão we had wonderful fountain water. One just had to get down the street, the fountain was free for everyone. Later a company acquired the right to explore the fountain and sold the mineral water in bottles as it does today.
If it has to be a national event, I prefer November 15th 1889 the day of our republic.
