Ahmed I dont think you actually need Arabic enabled Im sure there is somwhere thats let syou use the charcters as images...in fact most types of word do I think I man I was using a windows in an english school and still manged to write some arabic.

Have you visited the British counsel library recently? I mean I havent been in for a few years but as I rember they carried a lot of "literature" and why would they do that if there wasnt a demand. In fact I know alot well ok a handful of Egyptiens who are interested in literature.

I was prompted to make my first post here, so erm, here i am!

A bit about myself? Well, i'm from London, I'm still at school! (feeling a little young...) but that doesn't mean i don't enjoy classic literature, because believe me I do. I'm studying Great Expectations at the moment, which is the main reaon I'm here, this site is very useful for helping me with my essay! I also study geography, german, drama, art, maths and science, of which i enjoy drama the most!

I'm also very into music. I play several instruments: piano, trumpet and guitar. All very different instruments! I enjoy listening to music immensly, mainly rock, but can vary depending on mood! I LOVE going to gigs! I'd not survive living anywhere without such a vast number of gig venues as London! Also - I love playing gigs with a band i play bass for, The Primes.

yesterday I became a member of this forum , which seems to be very interesting (though I hadn't and have the time at the moment to get into ist as much as I would like to). It was too late to introduce myself, it is as late as well tonight (I am living in GErmany) but I guess I have t start somehow.

So, Virgil, you've got company. I am even older than you though also being born in 1961. Am I right that we are the dinosaurs of this forum?

I love reading more than anyrhing else. Even more than watching sports, i. e. soccer (too sad, that the worldcup has ended a fortnight ago). Originally after finishing school in 1980 I made an apprenticeship and became a bookseller. Then in 1983 I studied German, English and American literature and got an M. A. degree. And nowadays I am working as a fre lance editor, spending most of the year on one project, writing texts on hotels and restaurants for a guide.

That are merely the first things which came to my mid. Of course my life has some more facettes than just written. Similiar to Madhuri I feel a bit shy writing for the first time here (not in my native language) but do hope to fit in and learn much more about you.

No worries about writing in English, as long as I have been here, people have been nothing but generous and gentle as to my command of English and everybody else's :nod:.
I'm sure you won't be able to avoid fitting in! :D ;) Your being a bookseller and having studied English & American lit. will surely enrich a great many discussions to come! ;)
