never.
I have had to make mad dashes across Charles De whatsit in Paris with hiking boots in one hand coat, scarf and jumpre in the other and boarding pass between my teeth though.(less than 1hr between flights and this was when it took over 40 minutes to get from one gate to another and you had to go up and down flights of stairs and catch a bus and go through endless check points and people just dont move fast enough!! )
Charles De Gaulle (sp?) is reputed for rediculous between flight times. One hour to get from one terminal to another. thick.
I know, right?
Hey, Bad.
ok, the missing the flight was not me!! I was meeting my best freind for a shopping and drinking weekend, she missed the flight and had to take a later one.
Actually in Mexico I almost missed our flight, apparently they announced a gate change and none of us heard it and as we were standing in line to board somebody mentioned that the plane was not the airline we were booked on, we all kinda shrugged and kept standing in line until a man with a bull horn came around calling our names.:lol: We had to run to the other gate. We didn't even take our seats before the plane starting parting from the runway.
No, a friend of mine at work actually flew into the wrong city. His business trip was to Richland, Washington, and he was to fly into Tricity Airport, and the tri cities are made up of Richland, Kinnewick, and Pasco, but for some reason he thought Spokane was part of Tri Cities. So he made his itinerary for Spokane and when he goes to the rental car in Spokane and asks for directions to Richland and told him it was 200 miles south (or something like that) he was shocked and then they told him where he was supposed to fly into, he broke down laughing. He had a long trip back and forth to the airport. That must of have been 18 years ago and he's never lived it down since.
Road Trips! They always sound like fun in the beginning but about 3 hours in I'm thinking "why the hell am I doing this?" Does anybody else have "Road Trip Food"? For me it's jerky and those those starbuck bottled coffee drinks. I never even think about jerky until i'm road tripping then all of the sudden I'm in the gas station thinking "damn that jerky looks good"
Papaya, I've had terrible, terrible road trip experiences. Many of my friends are extremely hyper, and a few are diagnosed ADD or ADHD. Well, we once decided to drive from Montreal to Sudbury with my buddy Colt, who is an extreme case of ADHD.
From 555 bottles of beer on the wall to negative 398. He didn't stop singing the song from the moment he got in the car until the car stopped, and he had opened the door and gotten out.
Road trip food: Ringolos, other chips, home made cookies, loads of sandwiches in an ice box, bottled water, Iced tea, NEVER pop (warm pop is the WORST, especially root-beer, which starts to taste like socks when it gets warm...), and Tim Horton's... always.
Never!!! Thankfully! I'm always extremely meticulous about things like that. Also, I ask security and attendants about 80 0000243743287342783427832478324 times if I'm at the right place... and show up ridiculously early to make sure. (E.g. flying back to Canada from Gatwick airport, I didn't want the close call of getting the train to the airport in the morning for a 10:00 a.m. flight, security, etc... so I was there at about 8:30 the night before!!)Quote:

That doesn't sound like fun at all!! I prefer the alphabet game.. it can be played for a variety of venues. My favorite is either the Dostor or the record store.
I do so miss Tim Horton's. Thats on the list of place I must go whenever I get home.Quote:

:lol: oh no!! So you got there 14 hours early??Quote:

^__^ 14 hours. Yep... but I sort of like airports... they're like a little, self-contained village. Ideal for people watching. Food, drugstores, lingerie stores, bookstores. I just... really like airports. *Freak*
How do people work 90 hours a week? and do it for extended periods of time?????
If you know you are going to the airport why wear shoes you can't walk in? (OK, I admit I did this once but the shoes were very cute.)
And what about newcasters?? What kind of qualifications do you need? My regular local morning station has a new newcaster that, on a regular basis mispronounces words. Shouldn't you know what you're reading before you get on camera?
 So, I'm in a city that has some pretty good popcorn, I always get a bag when I come here. Yesterday I was going up an escalator with my bag of popcorn in hand and this guy coming down kept looking at me, I was thinking alll riiighhhtttt my new glasses are a hit, I must be looking good. As he passed I heard him say to his friends "I wonder where she got that popcorn". Damn it! It was all about the popcorn:lol::lol:
I'm back from Margaritaville. On my way to Margaritaville I had a little delay at the airport, both x-ray machines were not working and TSA was checking each bag by hand. How do both machine break? at the same time???
thats stupid....
One broke down so the other had to be used twice as much and wasn't up to it and overheated? Alternatively, they heard you were coming through and decided to do something that would really, really annoy you.....
we have been traveling for nearly three weeks ago on a cross-country road trip. We're now in Maryland, after spending the day in Philadelphia, where we saw the Liberty Bell, Independence Hall, and Washington Square.
But was that you in Heathrow last September?
Yep, Heathrow is my regular hang-out... And there is no shortage of people who could do their job better there! ;)
My airport stinks. I arrived at the airport at 5:15 am for my 6:00 am flight. When I walked in it seemed a little warm but I assummed it was just me but the further I got the hotter I got. Apparently the jackrabbits that run the airport don't turn on the air conditioning until 6:00 am. I would guess normally this wouldn't be an issue if the night time temperature dipped below 90F!!! It was incredible I was actually sweating, the counter people were giving out the name of the person to complain to every chance they got.
thats rediculous!
try working in those conditions. They've had the heating on a few times in Dublin airport this summer instead of the aircon and its been awful.
My trip is just about over, it's time to go back to the sweltering heat of Louisiana. So far I think I've eaten everything in the state of Michigan, I've been to every mall, and have tried on every color lip gloss ever made. Who says you can't go home again?
And how about that Kid Rock? Love him or hate him he puts on one damn good concert. He puts on the type of concert that makes me want to become a musician or do something in the music industry. I think i'll first have to learn an instrument.. hmm.. I think I say that after most concerts.... I'll have to think about this. Does anyone else feel like that after a show? It might be time for another poll. Which reminds me I need to figure out where I left off with those candy polls. Am I sounding like Nightie right now?
I just had the best egg salad ever.
Don't you hate when you forget something basic, then you have to think do I need to go buy more of this? or can I get by since I have plenty at home???
Depends what it is, papaya - my mum forgot to pack pants for me one time, left them all in the airing cupboard; my grandmother couldn't stop laughing and made her go straight to the Co-op first thing next morning.
Has anybody seen the new anti-smoking commercial? I think it's a national commercial. The one that starts of with the kids saying smoking didn't kill his Mom and it cuts to his mom who has the hole in her throat, then it cuts to others with similar disfigurments and ailments cause by smoking.:eek::sick::sick:
It makes me want to quit smoking and I don't even smoke!!!
I think this one even beats the Sarah Mchlachlin ASPCA commercial with the abused animals. Both are quickly turned off.
speaking of smoking... i'm almost six months off them!
Speaking of commercials, What do you think of when you hear the term "Trophies of Grace"?
Do you know what I hate about travelling all the hassel, with how many bags Im allowed and how much the weigh and what can go in each one.
And I am currenly stuck in this airport for the next 6 and a half hours!
On the plus side Ive found the internet here is actually cheeper than the intanet in the library but no spel checker meens Im sure this has revertied to bad bad spellings .
