Californiaq pizza. I should have taken him to a New York pizzaria. Actually I should have taken him to Little Italy and had the best Italian meal one can have outside of Italy. ;)
Sushi??? Leprechuans don't eat sushi. You're going to get him sick. ;)Quote:
...but he opted for another popular California meal instead--Sushi:

That looks like he's in bed with you. Are you sleeping with Larry? What a naughty, lucky Leprechuan. And what kind of blindfold games are you playing in bed with him? :p   :DQuote:
It's only getting worse! On Rodeo Dr. today he bought this ridiculous silk sleeping mask, and now he's told me to keep everything quiet because he needs his beauty rest:

  Virgil!!!!
Virge, you dirty old man, what was the value of that comment except it's shock value? (in-joke :) )
that sushi looks delicious (of course, I'm a veggie and I've got no idea what it tastes like  ;) )
what's the temperature in Cali at the moment?
I was gonna say it looked like he was tied up, too Virgil, did you notice that?
Quote:
I love that Larry is on top of the Literary Criticism shelf in the library! That's great.
And that sleeping mask . . . how did you do that?!
Being a literary leprechaun, he was of course drawn to the lit. crit. The sleep mask once belonged to one of my dolls (since I stay in my childhood room at home in CA I thought I'd dig out some old miniature accessories from the back of the closet for Larry's use while here). It also came with a matching robe that unfortunately didn't fit.Quote:
yeah i thought that was great as well!
But Petra, you cracked me up with the eye mask!
Goodness Virgil and B-Mental! You sound like those adolescent college students who try to disrupt the class by saying things calculated to shock the teacher. And to think just last night I was telling my brother and parents--who were curious about the origins of their leprechaun houseguest--what nice and respectable people there are on Lit. Net. Larry has been sleeping in the guest room, is slumbering as innocently as any child in the picture in question, is not tied up in any way, and has comported himself like a perfect--if occasionally tipsy--gentleman. :D
 Come to think of it, I should have given him some Chicago style pizza. We Californians can't make any reasonable pizza claims to fame, but I suspect some Chicago places could give New York a decent run for its money. ;)Quote:

 This leprechaun loved sushi. Indeed, he barely left enough for my friend and I to sample, and no sign of a tummy ache. :)Quote:

Larry went out to a play and a nice Mexican food meal last night. I'm uploading and organizing the pictures now and will post them in a bit. :)
A few pics from Larry's experience of Orange County nightlife last night. First he went with me and my family to South Coast Reperatory theater for their annual production of A Christmas Carol. Here he is by a sign for the play:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...arolPoster.jpg
...and on his way to pick up the tickets at the box office:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...Rboxoffice.jpg
My mom took a couple pictures of me and Larry outside the theatre, and outside the nearby performing arts auditorium:

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...byFirebird.jpg
Afterward we went to my favorite Mexican food restaurant. Here's Larry posed by one of the murals in the restaurant sporting his new sombrero for the occasion:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...inDonJoses.jpg
Since he's supposed to sample a drink characteristic of each place he goes, I figured he couldn't go wrong with one of the best margaritas in Southern California:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...gMargarita.jpg
He got quite happy after a few sips:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...dMargarita.jpg
Maybe a little too happy:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...tMargarita.jpg
He looked pretty chipper this morning though, and keeps asking when we can go out for Mexican again. :D
 Hadn't thought of that, Scher. Though I suppose we'll believe him that it's just to adjust for the size of the pictures. ;)Quote:
Has anyone else noticed that Virgil started to use bigger fonts on his birthday???
Old age's taking its toll on his eye-sight already?
 http://i138.photobucket.com/albums/q...hysterical.gif
Go Larry!
http://i222.photobucket.com/albums/d...urn_lg_clr.gif
Nice to see what you look like Petra! :) I really like your dress.
Hahaha, looks like he is having a blast. Don't get him too tipsy before he comes here!
So, judging from the list, it would be a little while before he would make it back here after Europe, right?
Well, if I get this job, I think it will be somewhat time consuming. Of course, I am not certain about that. I am just going by how it was described to me. I am afraid I wouldn't be the best of hostesses for him!
So, let me see how that goes first and I will get back to you on that. OK?
Hopefully he can come because I think he would have a grand old time here! :p
Man! I really should have looked at a map of the states before comprising this list!:p
I think its better this way!
Virgil-Recieved and gone
Petrarchs love- larrys current host
Adorero Dio
Granny 5
B-Mental
Papaya
Shalot
(LadyWenthworth if she wants to be slotted in-PM me.:) )
Weisenheimer
Weeping Willow-Israel
Madhuri-India
Sleepy Witch-Germany
Chava- Denmark
Koa-UK
IS everyone okay with the change? If anyone has any problems or issues about Larry, let me know via PM.
Also, if anyone else would like to join in let me know! :D
ok, we will need to finalize this sometime, because I thought Weisenheimer was gonna send Larry to me, and I am going to meet Papayhed in person face to face, have lunch, and then get Larry away from me...I'll probably need a rest by then. LOL.
Ok, I got all caught up on Larry's adventure...I can't believe I didn't pick up on how cute Petrarch's Love is before now...woogie.woogie.woogah.woogah.
Well, i thought it would be better that way after i looked at the map of the states. I had originally been trying to keep it in order of proximity and for some daft reason (dont ask me why!) i thought Louisiana was a little farther east and maryland on top with Ten- side by side to that......
Then when i finally looked at a map, i realised that Arkansas and Ten- were right above Louisiana and maryland was miles way and further up the east coast that i had thought, and out of the three, Ten- was actually closest.
Thats when i decided it would probably be best to head to Arkansas after Calif as planned then drop down into Louisiana, back up into Ten- and then up and over into Maryland....( or from Ten- up to Wisconsin to Lady Wenthworth if she wants and then bsck down to Weisen.)
Do you see my point?
And what leason have i learned? Always consult a map before making a list!!!!!
Sorry B! You will probably get him a little sooner than expected! But remember. He is still with Petra and still has to go to Adorero (and lily by the looks of it) and granny5. I'd say late Jan early feb for you. :)
That would be perfect, I have a week off at the end of January, and I'm going to take Larry to see the great city of New Orleans...some of the photos might make you cry when you see how little has been done. Anyways, thanks for the clarification. cheers. B
Hey can we have a virtual map, of where he is and places hes going, maybe for those of us just watching?
How can i do one of them up?
ah and here we hit the prob I just asked my mum but shes forgotton how she mutter something about it being a google tool.
If i down load a map from google, can i put it in word art and just draw on it, save it, upload it into photo bucket, and then post it here? does that work?
probs... Ill mess about and see if I can make a virtual changable one, if you like.
EDit I mean intteactive
Done as start only I need place names to finish it but here is what larry has done so far.
http://www.travellerspoint.com/membe...&tripid=115962
Im a bit tierd thouh and cant think how to just get the picture so we can show it here but this should do for now.
Thats really cool. Thnx Nightie
Love the travel map. Larry's excited about it too. It'll be so much fun to track his course.
I have some pics from a trip to the beach and our trip to Disneyland today, but I'm a bit tired tonight so I won't upload them until tomorrow. Meanwhile, Larry's stay in Huntington Beach is drawing to a close and A.D. has already sent me the address for his next destination. My schedule's packed tomorrow and I doubt I'll have time to get to the post, and the Post Office may be a zoo Saturday (besides I think Larry would rather be in a home rather than a padded envelope in a letter office on Christmas), but if I'm not able to get him out Saturday I'll definitely mail him up to Ventura as soon as possible after Christmas at a rate that will be sure to get him to Adorero Dio in time for New Year's celebrations. He's looking forward to hitting the road again!
Thanks. It's so great to be back in weather where I can wear that dress outside in December!
 Well, I'm taking the onomatopoeia either as a compliment or a sign that B Mental drives a vintage automobile.
Where can I get a Larry's duplicate?
you looking for a teddy like him? I can bring you one over from Ireland in June if you want. :)
lol, you just made me snort PL...Cheers, B
O.K. I had a window of time this evening in which to upload the recent Larry pictures. Yesterday Larry got to go to Disneyland, and he had a grand time. He really fit in because they're used to animated characters around there. Here he is by the flowers in the shape of Mickey's face and the train station at the entrance to the park:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...eyEntrance.jpg
Another shot of him by the statue of Walt Disney and Mickey:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...yandMickey.jpg
A few in front of the castle, which looked great decorated for Christmas:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...LandCastle.jpg
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...andCastle2.jpg
Larry by Snow White's Wishing Well ensuring that it's in good working order with a little Leprechaun magic:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...ishingWell.jpg
Larry excited about going on the Matterhorn ride:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...Matterhorn.jpg
And here's a shot of Larry by the miniature replica of Toad Hall from the Wind in the Willows on the Storybook Land ride. The ride has all sorts of miniature houses surrounded by real trees that grow to scale. The pine tree that's decorated to the right of the house is an actual miniature pine that grows there and is probably no more than about 7 or 8 inches tall, and the house itself is maybe about a foot and a half high. All the other surrounding plants are real too. Larry seemed to think the scale was just right for a Leprechaun:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...byToadHall.jpg
And, since I didn't get a chance to post them earlier, here are some pictures of Larry's first trip to a California beach. When we first arrived all he wanted to do is sit on the lifeguard tower and act like he was on "Baywatch," but he quickly figured out that it wasn't exciting as it is on T.V.:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...eLifeguard.jpg
Since he had already exercised his sculptural skills in the snow, he thought he would try a new medium and was quite proud to produce his first sand castle:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...Sandcastle.jpg
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...andcastle2.jpg
After that he was tired out so he put out his beach umbrella and lay out for several hours while blasting music on his Larry sized radio:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...OntheBeach.jpg
Later on he posed by this statue of a surfer, which seemed appropriate since Huntington Beach is the city the Beach Boys based the song "Surf City" on:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...rferStatue.jpg
He finished the day with a nice sunset stroll along the shore. That's the Huntington Beach pier in the background:
http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e3...eachSunset.jpg
And so Larry goes off into the sunset for now to make preparations for his further California adventures with Adorero Dio.
Dang Larry runs around with pretty women, has a blast, and just a all around good time...I'm envious.
Larry looks pretty happy on the happiest place on Earth.
Those pics are bril Petra! I'll have to add them to the directory.
(i case you havent noticed, i've started a directory on the first page so if you want to look over the pics is easy peasy from there!:p )
Clearly it's no myth that leprechauns have all the luck. :D
Oh yes, he loved Disneyland. :)
Glad you enjoyed the pics. The directory was a great idea. Now it'll be easier for me to show my curious friends Larry's adventures.
Wow, he got to be in snow and then on a beach! That's cool!
And those pics made me curious about the USA which is so weird because it's not a place in my to-visit list! Impressive!
