Pen got me to thinking so this is also for my friend Lar

My friend, so you need
comfort and encouragement
Please take time to pray

Worry swells within
heart so heavy as to sink
Unburden yourself

Not a sparrow falls
That goes unnoticed by Him
Much greater are you

When sorrow is great
Rely more upon His strength
Instead of your own

I am so sorry
That you have to suffer so
But this will not last

The climb to the top
Takes so much effort and time
There’s Glory up there

But you must have peace
Along your tedious climb
Find the joy in Him

Until you find peace
you can count on your friends here
To offer support

support got me to thinking

My husband tells me,
"Put on your big girl panties
and just deal with it."

Sympathetic man?
I’ve never heard him called that.
I’ll just deal with that.

I wasnt sure whether to post it in a different thread, ultimately decided to post it here anyway. This is close to a haiku but in a 5-7-7 syllable format.
Post ur comments if u wish, but I already know that its *very* typical and stuff, just posting it because... as they say- "sharing is caring"! :lol:



Trapped in time's trammel
Fighting to be free I yell
While the fears in me swell.

I try not to care
Try to overlook the fear
Seeking relief everywhere.

Time flies by, they say,
The vexing pasts shooed away
Leaving nothing on their way.

So i shut my eyes
Gulping the upsurge of sighs,
Waiting for Phoebus to rise.

Pretty banal, eh? :( Any suggestions? :idea:

P.S. Oh and should I perhaps open a new thread for this? comments in here might hurt the main topic of this thread...

Your first line has 6 syllables. The nitpickers would say seven, because you used a contraction. Play with form all you wish. Invent a new form. Try winning the form poetry contest and then make us use that new form to write poetry! support is never
a harshly spoken language—
soft words repel wrath…

gentle like spring rain,
not torrential downpour—
that causes only flooding…

when the tears won’t stop
because of unmended wounds,
first aid is required…

rejection is fire
burning fiercely out of hand
love will find a way…

Since Memorial
Day Weekend happened, this week
Will be very short!

blue is a color
that brings so much to the pen
writing continues

it is but a dream
waiting patiently to rise
from twilight slumber

forms and figures pass
wondering through paths unnamed
spoken with sounds read

allusions denied
yesterdays and tomorrows
designs thread as one

consider the time
of this days present moment
create the vision

together it comes
all at once to know for sure
its in his strong hands

On Friday it ends
my time on my loved compy
During a long fast

Forty days is long
to be off the computer
and watch no movies

But I will succeed
with God's strength in my body
and within my heart

So farewell to you
To all my dearest of friends
Until summers done

Let me cherish the one drop
Of dew in a leaf.

Lucid as it is,
Hanging by the very edge,

good morning uncle
hope the weekend relaxed you
glad you're back with us

All the Life in me
Reverberated anew,
And Eden drew close.

Sunshine filters through
Cloud cover promising dampness—
Cardinal sings “Wet, wet”…

Cannot pierce fog,
Enshrouding my mountains—
Wet blanket covered…

The hikers out there,
On their tireless journey from
Georgia up to Maine…

Along the brown thread,
That curves along woodlands—
And passes nearby me…

To conquer the trail.
You must conquer Virginia,
More than a fourth…

can one stop the breath
each day as we awaken
the heart continues

the days pass quickly
in the land of emotions
there are but two sides

there is the darkness
bringing fear and misery
anxious to make friends

requesting your life
spinning a chain of deceit
hoping for your bond

shall we sit as one
feel the closeness of our thoughts
seamless in their world

soon it becomes real
this place of darkness and gloom
the cruel comfort

how does one escape
this one hapless companion
is there no one there

Challenging friendship
Reveal nothing of yourself
So mysterious

everything unseen
reflected pools shimmering
are the fallen leaves

soundless weightless words
heard without understanding
measured tipped the scale

Know not where it ends--
Journey of a sojourner,
Skyline smiles at me.
