That one is easy, Mother by Pink Floyd.
Alright then it's official. I concede. The thread is dead.
Idril's turn to post a set of lyrics.
I'll post!!
Quote:
Maybe it's been crazy
And maybe I'm to blame
But I put my heart above my head
We've been through it all
And you loved me just the same
And when you're not there
I just need to hear
Neil Diamond is correct, Idril. The song is Hello AgainQuote:
Maybe it's been crazy
And maybe I'm to blame
But I put my heart above my head
We've been through it all
And you loved me just the same
And when you're not there
I just need to hear
Let's see....
Quote:
Lost
On a painted sky
Where the clouds are hung
For the poet's eye
You may find him
If you may find him
Be - Neil Diamond
Next song:Quote:
Hesitate but don't refuse
Choice was yours but you said choose
The look she used was green and sharp
Stabbed that boy all in his heart
Come what may the cosmos will
Take me up and down on Primirose Hill
The previously posted lyrics come from a Red Hot Chili Peppers Song
Emit Remmus
Here's the next one:
Buffalo Soldier, Dreadlock Rasta:
There was a Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America,
Stolen from Africa, brought to America,
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival.
I mean it, when I analyze the stench -
To me it makes a lot of sense:
How the Dreadlock Rasta was the Buffalo Soldier,
And he was taken from Africa, brought to America,
Fighting on arrival, fighting for survival.
Said he was a Buffalo Soldier, Dreadlock Rasta -
Buffalo Soldier in the heart of America.
Buffalo Soldier by Bob Marley. The album is Confrontation, his last.
Quote:
while you are away
my heart comes undone
slowly unravels
in a ball of yarn
the devil collects it
with a grin
our love
in a ball of yarn
he'll never return it
so when you come back
we'll have to make new love
Bjork - Unravel
I give,
You take,
This life that I forsake,
Been cheated of my youth,
You turned this lie to truth
Anger, Misery, You'll suffer unto me
Metallica - Harvester of Sorrow
Quote:
And the grave-diggers smiling
At his reflection in his spade
Hes visiting the seediest
The shallowest of graves
The vocal chords of elephants
And the characters of mice
Theyre singing whisky, whisky
So good they named it twice
Liars' Bar - The Beautiful South
Headed down south to the land of the pines
And I'm thumbin' my way into North Caroline
Starin' up the road
And pray to God I see headlights
I made it down the coast in seventeen hours
Pickin' me a bouquet of dogwood flowers
And I'm a hopin' for Raleigh
I can see my baby tonight
Wagon Wheel - Old Crow Medicine Show

Quote:
Everywhere I go someone's tryin' to be my girlfriend's best friend
I'm tryin' to pretend I'm relaxed but I'm playin' castanets with my knees
I try to be cool and give her space
But a guy's always there ready to jump right up and take my place
Everyone in this room seems to want to make a big fool out of me.

Quote:
I woke the same as any other day
Except a voice was in my head
It said seize the day, pull the trigger
Drop the blade, and watch the rolling heads
The Day I tried to live - Soundgarden
Quote:
I hurt myself today
To see if I still feel
I focus on the pain
The only thing that's real
The needle tears a hole
The old familiar sting
Try to kill it all away
But I remember everything
Hurt - NIN (and Johnny Cash :thumbs_up )
Quote:
And I heard, as it were, the noise of thunder: One of the four beasts saying: "Come and see." And I saw. And behold, a white horse.
It amazed me how musically knowledgable people on this site are so i thought i'd create a bit more of a challenge.(dont know if this was done before, if it was my appologies mods)
What you do is someone writes down a line or verse from a song and you have to guess what the songs title is. Artist is optional. (if you are like me most of the time you'd know the song but not the artist!:( )
I'm going to start of with an easy one to get the ball rolling;
when life is jolly rotten, theres something you've forgotten:D
Although I should be too young to know this :D, I think its
The Last Resort by the Eagles ?
Here's mine:

Another sleepless night
Three cups of coffee but I can't clear my head
