214 - Funny. :p
215 are you still here Taina? I guess you probably don't have school, summer school wouldn't start yet, but still...
216........
217 Hi Papaya! hows your honeymoon? Stan seems quite engrossed.
218 Yeah, I'm still here. I've actually been out for the summer since the last week of April. I'm only taking one summer class, and that's so I can graduate next May. Right now, I'm just hanging out at my dad's school.Quote:

That would be my 4th year of college. My dad teaches high school, and American schools, or at least the one's I've gone to, end the second week of June, with the exception of colleges and universities, which let out the last week of April or first week of May.Quote:

Eeek! that is freaky! I do live in the US(midwest), and my opinion is that the colleges get out early, here I know a college that started testing May 17. 2nd week of June is soo late for high school (and elementary). Here they end first week of June, maybe half way through? Don't ask me, I'm home schooled. When do your schools start?
Hello- I thought I would do my part to further the count. Thanks for the words of welcome in the introductions RJ!

226 I have to go. Talk to you tomorrow.
227 see you around Taina! Great meeting you, well I've seen you around, but haven't really interacted with you before...
Okay, the numbers are out of hiding now. They were a little shy at first, but they got over it.

doscientos y treinta dos??
to hundre tretti tre
he he he- I can count in Norwegian too!
to hundre tretti fire
great! now I expect an explanation.
doscientos y treinta cinco - Actually, my dad's family originated in the norther part of the Land of 10,000 lakes, and my mother's family from North and South Dakota. All my grandparents were fluent in Norwegian, my parents less so, and I am virtually clueless, but my grandma made sure I knew basics like please, thank you and my numbers. :thumbs_up

well, I am very fluent, my mother is from this neighborhood, and my father is from Norway, as am I, and I lived there a number of years ago too. I just turned in my last online Norwegian assignment for the schoolyear! yay! I have learned a handful of Spanish, (don't plan on learning any more) but I have found the pronunciation easier being bilingual from birth.
I'm sure that helps with other languages, as well as your English.
237!
Yes, I think if a person is bilingual, it makes picking up other languages easier as well. I am fluent in English and Spanish (although Spanish is rather rusty, as I don't use it on a daily basis), plus I speak some French and Italian. Then I have a smattering of German and Norwegian. Someday I would like to focus on learning more Norwegian, but it's difficult to find anyone out here that speaks it. My parents are REALLY rusty at it! Still, where there's a will, there is a way.

everytime I come to my thread, you have one more post!
I do not know if this will be of any help to you, for I have not looked at it, but you can check it out: language lessons

That is a great site - thank you! I was having a lot of fun digging around in the "recipe box" section as well. My grandmother used to make potato dumplings, but never wrote a recipe down in her life. She didn't get a chance to teach me how to make them before she passed away (she was 100!!!), so I haven't had them in a while. Wouldn't you know it, they had a recipe there.
Someone missed out 236!!!!!
