tournesol that was awful! you know, whenever i try to go on a diet my mum starts cooking every yummy thing you can imagine and she also buys or makes sweets etc. i am sure she is doing it on purpose for she knows i will succumb into these sins!!! i hate her for doing that!!!!!!!!!!!!
argghhhhh!! I bought some new eye cream and tried it out last night, I woke up this morning with dry flaky eye lids. This is not my best look!!!
sometimes Clinique products irritate me - they cost a lot and then they're not so great. Like the 3 step skin care set you can buy for like over $30 bucks? Lye soap works as well as that soap, the astringent BURNS my face and the lotion makes me break out. But my roommate in college swore by it. I do like the Clinique Bonuses though - you know where you buy a certain dollar amount of stuff and then you get a free make up bag and a lipstick usually, a brush set, a trial size cleanser or something. And there's usually some eyeshadow in shades that you will never ever wear. I have a collection of bonus eyeshadows upstairs
In fact I have a lot of makeup that I don't really use, but it's there with hte rest of my make-up and I just root past it every morning while I'm getting ready...I can't bring myself to throw it away until I've had it at least 2 years or so.
I totally have the same thing. First, I also love the bonuses. Second, I got more stuffs than I need for every day use. Some of them are from bonuses too, that's why they are like piling up. I'd love to give them away to my friends, but most of them have different skin type and skin shade. And you're also right, Clinique is costly and some products are not worth the money. Say, do you mix products or you just stick with one brand? I use Clinique moisturizer and powder, but I use Murad for sunscreen.
Papaya, perhaps you want to try Body Shop Vitamin E eye cream. I used it everyday for almost a year now and it really reduces fine lines around your eyes. Also, it really helps for puffy eyes. I have sensitive eyes myself and I have no issue using this product.
me too. I was on a clinique kick for a little while, but now I'm using this vitamin C serum from a recommendation from another site.
I love me some samples, last weekend I got a make over and ended up getting a some decent samples now the trick is to try to use them.
I may try that out, I just bought some neutrogena eye cream so I'll give that a try first.Quote:

Random question, but...
has anyone ever had a piercing start bleeding for no apparent reason?
Totally not good. Yes, I have, it turned out it was slightly ripped on the inside. Sometimes, it's just a minute scab that's peeled away. But othertimes it can actually be a tear in the fistula. Go to your piercer and get it checked out.
Just to add to the Clinique discussion... I've never used it. I SWEAR by Vichy, which is even MORE expensive ($20 cleanser, $20 toner, and roughly $10 for the moisturiser), but it makes my face look absolutely perfect, and I have pretty terrible skin. :bawling:
Ack, really? That's what I was afraid of...It's my belly button piercing and it just started bleeding the other day so I took the ring out and cleaned everything but when I put the ring back in it didn't seem to go through properly and now it's kinda sore. Not bleeding at all, but I can't pull on it or move it around or anything like I could before. Does it matter that the piercing is over a year old?
p.s. ironically, the Piercer was Stigmata downtown haha
I'm not one for body lotions or face creams. I very very very rarely use them. Every now and then i use my mams neutrogena (think its neutrogena) face scrub but thats seriously once in a blue moon.
Oi! Stop hogging the tea! *waves empty cup*
Ewww Stigmata!! They hate me there... use Mark at Nighthawk! He's fantastic, and friendly, and doesn't make you feel like an insignificant piece of dirt who doesn't belong in the shop... </endrant>
Just don't touch it for a while. Don't take it out anymore, and sea-salt soak it twice a day, and you SHOULD be okay.
I used to break out from just everything. No matter how expensive.
So I took a course in cosmetology, learned about the ingredients and what they actually do to the skin and I began to make my own.
It was miraculous. And always fresh, chemical free and so nourishing and effective for me at least.
I was not impressed with what I found out about almost all products on the market, one company, well several actually used spermaceti, from whales! Whales, that staggered me. No thankyou. To kill a what for my face is a no no.
Haha may I ask why? I actually really liked them. The guy was really nice and the place was CLEAN. I don't get pierced very often (aka, only a hole in each ear and my belly button), so I doubt I'll be having anything done for a while (though I've considered my nose...), but if I do, I'll check out your guy!
Yeah, it's looking a lot better now. The skin is moving over it more easily and there's no soreness, so I'll just keep cleaning it. Thanks for the advice!!
wait Becca and classic live in the same place?
.... niamh have some tea...
ok, question suits ..Im going to need to buy a suit jacket top thing only in the past whenever Ive tried them on Ive had trouble because of my shape...how do you find out what tyope to go for and how do you size them?
Nightie, i'd suggest a Pin Stripe for you. It will add shape to your figure. Also a single breast, one button.
And thanks for the tea! :D
The live in the same area in canada but i reckon they both like to shop in the same city. :D
Cooool :eek2:
I remember when I was younger and my aunt gave me a Clinique set. Now I just use a designer imposter perfume, which smells exactly like Happy, and is very cheap :p
I think that spending a lot of money on make up is silly (maybe because I am poor since my job pays dirt and I got out of college not too long ago, heh)... and I rarely use perfume, and have never ever bought some for myself (all perfume I have ever used I received as a gift).
I do think Vichy is better than Clinique.. I had some Clinique stuff that I got as a gift, and some of it smelled really bad. This blush made my skin smell awful, and no one would even kiss me!
Just new here :D Big fan of coffee, so I thought I'd drop in ;) Can't do that without bringing something of course, so for all you thirsty girls:

Sorry, not the right girl to ask about make up :brickwall I could do a clowns face, but that's about it...
Hey girls! It's been a while since I last posted...I've been exquisitely busy!
Hope all are well...Thanks for the coffee Sapphire!
OK. I admit to being naive about this. I seem to wake up with more and more gray hair everyday. This wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't for the fact that I have such dark hair. The gray is very obvious because of this. It isn't even like my hair is gray. It is turning white. I was using this crayon that is meant to touch up roots. That really works well when there is a small amount to cover. Now it is getting harder to do that with because I have these incredibly long white strands that are popping up all the time.
Well, I don't know what to do about dyeing my hair. The only time that I ever did this sort of thing was years ago when I put blonde highlights in my hair. That was it. That was obviously choosing to make parts of my hair lighter and a different color than what it is. I don't want to do that. I love my hair color. I want to keep it this dark. I have nobody to ask about this because I don't know anyone that has dark hair.
So, here is my dilemma. If I could afford it, I would, of course, go to a salon to get it done. But at the moment, that is out of the question. So, I have to give in to the at-home dyes. I don't know what I should do to buy a dye that will keep my hair the same color. Now, say, for example, I wanted a "Golden Brown" color. Say it matched my hair exactly. But on the box it says that it is recommended for someone who has "Dark Brown" hair. Would it not look the same on me? Or, how on the box it will show how hair would look with this particular dye if your hair was both a shade of blonde or brown or even black. After all, it is making the other colors change and would be keeping mine the same. Now, I know anyone could use it. But here is my question. If the color of the dye is pretty much MY color, will it work? Will it basically give the appearance of a color similar to mine (if not exactly the same) or will it change the color of my hair? Basically, if I am hoping to use a dye that will match my exact color just to cover the grays, how much should I trust that the color will match mine, or should I assume that it will end up a different shade?
I hope that made sense. But I really don't know what to do with this. If anybody can help, thanks a lot!!
Most hair dyes have a colour guide to compare how the colour will look against certain natural colours. you could hold a piece of your hair against the one closest to your natural colour and see what it will look like.
If you want to keep your hair to its natural colour, get a dye close enough to it.
Yeah, I was wondering if it was close enough to my color, would it work and I guess you answered it for me. :) Thank you. :) Now, you just have to wish me luck that my hair will look the way that it does now and it won't turn out orange or something. I would be good for making some sort of mistake like that. :p
im in for a coffee
On hair deying (I can't believe you would write it as dying as someone told me :eek2:!): I've always deyed my hair myself, but never tried to come near my natural colour. I just plunge some "everlasting" red on it, to find out it only holds for 2 weeks or such  The colour changes after that period of time are interesting :p I guess that is the chance you take when you buy the cheapest in store ...
I hope it works out for you. If your hair is dark brown and you put something dark brown on it, I think the worst that can happen is that it is slightly different than your natural colour. Something would really be amiss if it turned orange ...
For the coffee:
:lol:I heard something quite funny today. A new and fabulous diet! 'THe sea food' diet - where you see food and must have it! :lol:Thought that was hillarious.
Sounds like a great diet :p
It's 2 weeks until my Year 12 Ball, and I was hoping to get rid of some weight before it, and today I weighed myself for the first time in months, and the result wasn't too bad! I was generally around 72-73 kg before, but today I was a little over 71 kg. It's been my aim to get to 65 kg for YEARS now, so it's actually looking like it might be possible!! (After my ops when I was 14 I got to about 80kg, I never want to go there again, not at this age especially.) So if I can get to 70 kg for the ball, I don't care if it doesn't show, 'cause I'll be happy and confident knowing it!
And I have a hair appointment tomorrow, just a quick trim and layering. I'm hoping to get it re-dyed as well, luckily my mum can do that type of thing :). I think I might go dark again for the ball, but then afterwards get it cut shorter and perhaps go back to blonde?
I hope your hair turns out good LW! :)
Yep! It's bright yellow and purple! :D (Which is likely to really make me stand out from all my friends in their dark red/green/champagne dresses! :p) I'll be sure to post photos afterwards :D
Bright colours to go with a bright personality! :)
aww thanks :D
Yep, we better get photos Sprinks!
I'm guessing this is what we North Americans call prom? The big fancy dinner and dance that goes with graduating from high school?
Mine was a good time. I went to a horse show the next day:sick:
You'll have so much fun Sprinks! Getting ready for it is half the fun!
I reckon its the same as a prom...
There's one of my friends... actually a few... that are all guys, that keep referring to it as a prom. Anyone near them just turns around and hits them :p. It's the Australian equivalent of a prom, yeah. We graduate in November. We also have a kind of Year 10 formal, because (back in the day) people could drop out in Year 10 if they so wished (things have changed). So they'd do a "formal" as a kind of ball opportunity for those people, only it was never as big as the ball. We had a Year 10 formal, but the school didn't like it, because they didn't want to encourage to people to think that way, like "Oh I've had a ball type thing, I can get a job and leave school now".
The only thing that sucks is that my knees are bad enough, and I'm wearing heels!. Then, I'm meant to DANCE in these heels! I feel bad for my partner, as I won't be able to do it. It's too dangerous. However, he has known me 6 years and knows all about my condition, so he'll have to deal with it.
