Oooh! I have a new picture to add....Sig Hansen from Deadliest Catch. I love that crusty old curmudgeon! His brother Edgar is in the background and he's not bad either but since he's not nearly as grouchy as Sig, he's not quite as adorable either.

I know, I have far too many crushes, but I have another BIG crush on Zooey Deschanel:

Keiko Tsushima from The Seven Samurai

(sadly this is the only picture I could find of herself in her youth)
and, if I were to ever have a man crush, it would so be on Toshiro Mifune (also from The Seven Samurai)

Jeanne Moreau from Jules et Jim (even though she was a total narcissistic ***** in the film)

John Cusack in High Fidelity,
the man knows his music, and he has the Dusting Hoffman thing going on :)

Gary Sinese. Not really a crush at all, but he should have been Doctor McCoy in the 'new' Star Trek movie. He's got the eyebrows, the blue eyes, the accent, the build...

You are absolutely right! I have never seen the resemblance until you pointed it out but he would've been perfect. A little old, maybe, considering they were supposed to be in the academy but he was older than the rest of them anyway, wasn't he? Already married and divorced, maybe it could've worked.
Karl Urban did a much better job than I thought he would. When that casting was announced I couldn't imagine what they were thinking but I have to say, he was a much better Bones than I thought he would be. Maybe they thought Gary was too old? I know Bones is older than the others but maybe they thought the gap would be too large?
Oh, I know, it really is ridiculous that they don't try to fix something that is so easy to fix. The movie was pretty good though and that is coming from a rabid Classic Trek fan. It kind of grew on me, as the movie went on I got more comfortable with those actors in the roles and started to really enjoy it. There were some plot points I struggled with but over all, I think it was a worthwhile 'prequel'. None of them hold a candle to the original actors but I can deal with it because it's not as if they are replacing them, only filling out their back story.
