Concerted Effects

First the bagpipes from afar,
breathless,
vibrant,
unexpected!

Then the dead roses
opening new buds
opulent
colorful
numerous.

And a scent of clover
Emanated from multiple leaves
in the abandoned cemetery.

A falling star graced the view
of an obelisk, piercing the sky
at dusk... then distant thunder
- the laughter of lesser gods
playing at their latest opera -
welcoming an enigmatic new
elemental into their elysian fold

The Hollow Needle

In France
at the shores of a stormy sea,
there stands a venerable rock.
It´s steep and slim
a contrast to the broadsided pyramids it evokes,
but like the Egyptian mausoleum
it contains possessions
belonging to generations of kings and queens.
May the sorcerer delve in his books,
or the detectives consult their maps.
May floods of tourist visit the magic site...
the royal treasure of Château de l'Aiguille
will remain hidden from human greed
for ever and a day.

I long for fair long past Hyarnustar | the radiant pearl of the people of Númenor | the cliffs, the beaches, the highlands | fertile vast vineyards and farmlands | golden yellow gilding adorning the foliage | those days were truly a golden age | in the days of Númenor's apotheosis | when gladsome mariners lived in bliss | lovable was each wee lad and lass | never strident in their countenance, alas | the Downfall of Númenor came through pride | by defying the Valar whose shores they eyed | hence Eru Ilúvatar commanded the flat world be- | come a sphere, thus was Númenor buried beneath the sea | t'was dour Elendil led survivors to distant shores | thus began the Second Age culminating in Sauron's wars | ... the destruction of the One Ring | but it's fair Hyarnustar forever in my heart - its bittersweet memories to which I cling

The ladybug and the pixie

Once there was a ladybug
That enjoyed traveling near and far.
She delighted in new landscapes.
But she was a very lonely little bug.
One day curious as ever she mounted an helix.
The helix took her to a grotto
which was a pixie sanctuary.
But the place had been abandoned
only one pixie was left
to take care of the grotto.
To make a long story short:
the pixie and the ladybug became friends
and with the luck the beetle brought
the grotto, swarming with ladybugs and pixies,
started to bloom again.
And if they didn't die,
they are alive to this day.
