The Bookinator: I asked:
New Riddle
If I were the "early bird", what would that make YOU?
Now, the early bird always gets the worm!
So, if I were the "early bird", YOU would be the "late worm." Being now deceased and all that!
I thought about soap, but saw it already posted. I thought roll-on deordorant first, because I had to get out a new stick that morning! Some of it leaves a white trail, anyhow!
-
Ooooh... I get it now, although I feel really dumb. (>.< D'oh!)
Er... let's see...
We are three genies capable of independent existence.
But bring any two of us together
And we shall summon the missing third
To respond to your beck-and-call within his capabilities.
Man would welcome any opportunity to fit an unwelcome harness
on our first whilst it is in full gallop.
Thus the first will conspire with our second to tackle the quest
To subdue the third to be a slave at your behest.
Our second was so repulsive as to be banished forthwith
to the far-flung corners of the globe.
His feet planted firmly on terra firma,
On his pate, an insecure white cap.
The repulsion of the second is surpassed by how shocking is the third.
Whilst our first, lest we forget, has been cursed by the gods
To remain forever in a state of perpetual restlessness.
Who are these restless, repulsive, shocking, yet subservient genies?
Hint: Think science.

Okay, my hubby and I talked the "Three Genies" riddle through and came up with two guesses.
1. Newton's Three Laws of Motion: Inertia, F = ma, and for Every Action there is an Equal and Opposite Reaction.
or
2. Energy: mechanical, magnetic, and electrical
-
The three states of mater, i.e., Gas, liquid, solid not necessarily in that order. ;)
-
Actually, Autumn Gal got it. Huzzah! It was the energy guess. ^_^ Although Pen's guess sorta makes sense... *thinks*
...
Ow, I actually used my brain. Teenagers aren't supposed to do that. (Too much logic. O.O)
Anyone have another good riddle, or shall I look up one in my great big book o' riddles? (Borders has EVERYTHING!! And on clearance too!)
-
If you can find one quick enough, put it up! I'm dying to solve one today...
And yes. Brains. Don't hurt yourself.... thought doesn't come naturally to the adolescent mind...

This is an old one, taken from a book I still own. See if you can figure out the message:
Each line is a word.
It's quiet there even in a hurricane.
A word of advice, politely given.
Old English bowmen loved it.
Bigger than raindrops, smaller than the ocean.
I'm number 26. Your number please?
It sets on the shelf like a well-fed elf.
Read the words down and write out the sentence to solve this riddle. ;)
