Okay, so I go for 'em when they're kinda dead.
Robert Frost:

Lewis Powell: (kind of a butthead, but a hot one nevertheless)

Lily you never fail to make me laugh...so I go for 'em when they're kinda dead?:lol::lol:....I think Frost is very dead by now; 6 foot under and probably a bit chilly, frosty to the touch. He did have very nice eyes - pretty eyes. I like his poetry, too.
Hi wessexgirl, sorry it took so long to answer this post of yours. You are right and I stand corrected about James Purfoy. I just assumed he was Scottish, since he played a Scotsman in TMOC; now I am even more impressed, since his accent seemed so authentic and totally convincing.
I am not big into the genre of Ancient Rome movies or books, but I will have to check out that movie, if you say he is great in it. I do indeed appreciate his talent. I do watch violence sometimes, not to say I like it very much, but anyway it can hardly be avoided in some very fine films of today, can it? It does seem that as soon as someone mentions to me a Roman type film, I automatically think 'violence' because usually that is the case. But to see this film, with all three greats, would be amazing. I watched some clips on youtube and it looks terrific. Thanks for the Youtube link you provided.
Guess what, I am watching the movie now; well later tonight I will start on part 2 of side one. I just bought it from Amazon and received it a few days ago. So far so good. Steven is so cute looking and all you said he would be - touching and vulnerable. He is sensitive and delicate. I really love his voice, too. I may have a few questions about the story. I am not familar with this particular Dicken's novel and find a few things a bit confusing; maybe a second viewing will be necessary. I like all the characters so far. It's really dark at times, isn't it?Quote:
And finally, someone else who loves Steven Mackintosh. He's just stunning in Our Mutual Friend, so touching and vulnerable. Catch that if you haven't already seen it, he's wonderful, but so are the rest of the cast. David Morrissey is in it too, so you can't go wrong. He's just brilliant, intense and compelling.
So...I gotta new one:

James Dean, (young) Elvis, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christian Bale, Ewen McGregor
I know there are more. Those are just the ones that immediately come to mind
At the moment Edward Norton. Don't ask me why, it just is
Oh yeah..and (young) David Gilmour and Johnny Depp (obviously)
It's always been Juliette Binoche for me...one is enough. ;)

French, down-to-earth, intelligent...sigh! :)
Richard Chamberlain was sooooo beautiful! (I have to say that ever since The Thornbirds, I have had a thing for priests... hot priests that is)
I also loved Paul Newman back in the day, and *sigh* Robert Redford...
oh and I am adding Gael Garcia Bernal to my list :)
Yeah, well, did you not see my list of men from pages back? The list was entirely of dead guys! :p BUT.......
NO! NO! NO! I swear that when I saw this just now I said out loud to the computer, "Oh my God! No!". And then I laughed. This guy freaks my brother out (long story). I honestly can't wait to tell him about this! :pQuote:

But if Lily Adams can say that Lewis Powell wasn't too bad to look at, then I can say that neither was John Wilkes Booth! I know he was nuts, but he wasn't a bad-looking guy. It is such a shame to waste himself like that. But crazy is crazy! Anyway, speaking of crazy, if I am crazy for this opinion, then she is, too! :p

And as long as we are talking about dead Civil War guys (as my brother calls them when he refers to my finding any of them attractive), I am going to say it - Robert E. Lee. Doesn't matter what age he is either. I like the look of him. :D
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd52/110678/lee.jpg
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd52/110678/lee2.jpg
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/dd52/110678/lee3.jpg
And, most of all, actually -
Robert Todd Lincoln (I think Abraham Lincoln's son was very appealing)
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...rtlincoln2.jpg
http://i227.photobucket.com/albums/d...rtlincoln3.jpg
And you know what? I don't see what is so crazy about finding a man from that far in the past attractive. After all, like I have said to my brother many times, "Why is it crazy if I say Robert E. Lee is attractive but it isn't if I say Gary Cooper is? They are both dead just the same!". :D
Oh ehm geezy! Firefly! *high five* He is pretty cute.
:D Well...he was! Look at the hot dead man!
That's Robert E. Lee!? The one in the 1812 lookin kinda get up and the brown hair!? No! Wow...he was purty good lookin'. I dig those sideburns.
Good last point. :p
 I will have rethink this thread now completely. I must go in search of 'dead man' celebrities and post my favorites, too.
Lily glad you like my pun.
LadyWentworth, I think Lincoln's son's last photo looks a little like Tom Hanks, as he looks today; that is if he was wearing the same style hair and mustashe.
Stargazer, I have always had a thing for David Gilmour, too.
Michael T,I have loved Juliette Binoche for sometime and I am a woman; if I was man, I would simply adore her. She is so incredible looking and is a great actress, one I highly admire.
andave, Nathan has gorgeous dark blue eyes; I love the name Nathan, too.
This was an interesting page!
 :thumbs_up
 Yes, indeedy! That is definitely Bobby Lee! :D He was purty good lookin', wasn't he? :D I always say that if he looked like that in a painting, just imagine what he looked like in real life! :D And yes, I LOVE the sideburns! :DQuote:

Thank you! I am glad someone agrees! :pQuote:
Good last point. :p
 Nothing against Tom Hanks, but that was such an insult to Robert Lincoln! I love RTL! Oh, yes, I do, and I will not have him compared to the looks of Tom Hanks! :p
You have to love him, he was great in Fight Club
