"The da Vinci Code" just got a run for its money for the next Oscars, I think. Either that or Vin Diesel's next picture.

I now intend to watch a David Cronenberg movie and laugh at the folly that is mankind.

"Snakes on a plane"! It's just SUCH a good title. I bet it took a whole lunchtime to think up something so clever and witty. I mustn't miss this film! And the director used to be a stuntman - it's got EVERYTHING!!! :lol:

I just saw "Master and Commander" because a friend kept bugging me about it for months and it's the perfect movie. Really. It's so well done, I can't come up with a single other film that's equally good.

Hostel. Jesus Pizza-tossin' Christ, Eli Roth is one sadistic director. This is one of the goriest movies I've seen since the 80s. No post-modern post-ironic post-holing horror here, just pure unadulterated schlock. Some interesting themes about objectifying others (let's just say there are two kinds of wh*rehouses in it, and the patrons of the first become the... well, don't wanna spoil all of it) but of course, what remains with you is the violence of it. Jesu... did I say that already? This was sick, sickening, and... well, call me a pervert, but it's fun. Not quite as good as his first, "Cabin Fever", but 3/5.

I like the phrase "Jesus Pizza-tossin' Christ."

The Aristocrats

It's a movie about possibly the least-funny joke in history, but a favorite of comedians because it is virtually impossible to tell wrong, and to be considered successfully-executed, the actions performed by the characters must be the most vile and shocking feats of disgustingness the teller can think of. The joke goes, "A man walks into a talent agent's office and says, 'I have a family act. You'll love it.' The agent says, 'Well, what do you do?' The man proceeds to say horrible, appalling, illegal things. The agent says, 'Well, what do you call yourselves?' The man says, 'The Aristocrats.'"

Yeah, it's stupid. But anyway, the movie consists of comedians telling and talking about this joke for an hour and a half. It was better than one might expect, but I was practically comatose by way of gin and brandy by the end of it, so I'm in no position to judge its objective qualities. I was laughing hysterically at other things in the room half of the time. The only part I really didn't like was when two separate people told it in front of confused/shocked/upset-looking babies. I don't expect babies to know what **** or a **** is, but by the size of their eyes, they knew it was something they shouldn't be hearing. That bit made me mad.

I liked "The Aristocrats". Sure it's not exactly fun for the whole family, and as pure comedy it wears a little thin - it's just one joke repeated with small variations for over an hour - but as a documentary on how comedy works (or, in the case of Bob Saget, doesn't work) it's brilliant.

Oh, and Sarah Silverman's bit was the best.

I am feeling so fuzzy and sick that I thought you said the Aristocats and I couldn't believe it. Although, having seen your picture(yuk yuk, as if and you are not getting away with that) perhaps I could believe you sat back and enjoyed that swell film. :lol:

I've just watched "Die Wolke" (The Cloud) at the cinema. i dunno if it's out internationally yet, but if it's on in your country, go and watch it. rating: 10 out of 10

i think the last film i watched was much ado about nothing for my coursework!!!
but the film before was constantine starring my best actor KEANU REEVES!!!!!!!!

Directed by George Clooney. 9 out of 10. So, so well done. I actually found myself forgetting to critique the acting technique, and I always do that. :p The only complaint I had was that there were two parts to the movie, jumping back and forth between two different years, and the ending never really reconciled the two. It just sort of went, "Okay, let's stop the movie nnnn...now," without ever building a real connection between them. But other than that, it was splendiferous in every respect. Very good casting. Everyone was awesome.

The last movie I saw was "Capote". Very interesting and Hoffman is doing a great job there.

The last movie I saw was 'V for vendetta' I loved it, I havent read the graphic novel but I plan too. Hugo Weaving was great as V, and the first scene he is in is very good (were he uses almost only words that start with V). The actors are good, even though Portman could work on her accent... VERY GOOD

today i watched a bit of harry potter with my freinds. it a cool movie, but when you watch it so many time you get bored of it!!!!!

Saw "V For Vendetta" the other day and quite liked it. There were some bits that seemed a bit Hollywoodified (I haven't read the graphic novel, but I ordered it the second I got home) and at times it seemed like they were trying to squeeze in a little too much, but I liked the whole look of it, all the different themes and subtexts running through it, and really good performances all around - though as much as I worship Natalie Portman, I have to wonder: isn't there ONE British actress who could have done that role rather than an American with a faked accent?

My biggest gripe was (slight spoiler - select text to read) that V was simply too sympathetic. It might have worked better if he had been more... evil, yet working for an ultimately greater good (?) cause. The way it's presented here, there's really no moral dilemma: V is basically a good guy, and anyone doubting his goals or methods must be on the wrong side.

Oh, and V has great taste in music, too.
