I never tried that, but years ago I went to this reenactment. I was looking at this woman's lye soap that she made. She told me that one of the benefits to using lye soap is that it clears acne. I didn't feel like trying that, though. :)
I have used Noxzema since I was a kid. I never washed my face with it, though. Instead, if I see that I am starting to get a pimple, I put Noxzema on that spot before it gets worse. I leave it on overnight and then just wash it off in the morning. Depending on how bad the pimple might be, it might take a couple of extra nights to clear up, but that just means that I would have to put Noxzema on at night again. It does seem to help. In your son's case, I don't know. Maybe, if nothing else, for the time being Noxzema may ease it up a little bit. My skin is normal-dry-oily based on what part of my face that I'm dealing with. My nose is the oily part. That seemed to start recently. So, that is where I have the most problem. My skin is also very sensitive. Using cleansers and other acne medicine, thus far, has been quite pointless for me. I tend to break-out using products for break-outs. Noxzema has been the only thing to help me.Quote:
Or the noxema?
Have you ever used one of those mud masks, or something similar? I use a different type of mask every few days, and I also use a scrub every few days when I wash my face. That seemed to help me. Whenever I got into a phase where I was too tired to bother with a mask, my pores seemed to get bigger. When I would start to get back into the swing of things again with the masks, that would always help. For me, though, I have to make sure that I am faithful with the masks or my skin ends up the same way it was before pretty fast.
