HEY GUYS,
WELCOME TO OUR WORLD OF LITERATURE!!
I am not new, yet this is the first time I introduce myself to the forum!
I am Syrian. I love this forum coz it is multinational and coz it has always sth new to offer! I graduated from Damascus University last year and got a license in English literature. I am in the very first stages of doing my MA which is going to be on British drama. I am going to focus on the theatre of the absurd. I have just finished reading The Gift of The Gorgon by Peter Shaffer. I advise u to read it. I write poems; I have few of them in this forum.
I love Nietzsche, kafka, beckett, Shaffer, woolf, krestiva and many others.

Welcome to the litnet, shortleg, AC fan, and abcpoet. I hope you all enjoy it here.
Nice to meet you, lily of valley.
I am an avid reader, writer, and teacher. I am a huge public library advocate and I am always on the prowl for great reads! I often find that I am reading a book that was written and popular years ago...please excuse me in advance if my posts seem dated! I am also usually on the library's 'most wanted' list for overdue books- I have ownership issues. (Did you know that library fines are now added to credit reports?) I intend to read your posts and learn from y'all. (Southern gal!) Thank you for this opportunity.
Hello everyone. Well, I've been here and gone off and on over the last couple of years or so and it has just hit me that I don't think I've ever posted and introduction during that entire time. So, for all who have been here for so long, sorry that was very rude of me. In my defense I seem to have trouble keeping my online activities strait. Most of my time is spent doing my courses for college. I've spent the last 4 years obtaining my marketing degree and am now completing one of my final two classes.
There isn't too much to know about me. I enjoy reading, writing, painting, quilting, cooking, and just about any other artistic pursuit I can think of. That said, I have very little time to do any of this. I'm a mother to two children and a wife so life is quite full. My son is now 4 years old and my daughter is just 9 months. Life is busy, but my time here is some of the only time I take for myself each day. I'm always trying to find new books and authors to read, but I'm also a fan of the classics. I love to discuss Shakespeare and I try to make time to look at some of what everyone is writing. For me this is my release. I can be part of discussions about my favorite stories, but I can also post my own story I am working on for critique. Though very rough, I am optimistic about the final outcome. I am currently laying out a real timeline and charater listing for my story Jump Awry, and even more fervently hoping for inspiration for a better title. I find little time to really put my ideas on paper, so my additions will generally be short and not as frequent as I would like. I am enjoying the writing process, though, since it has been years since I was bitten by my muse. I just need to find the time to lay the story out in note format, and then I can worry about the true writing of it. I find ideas are like momories and easily lost if you don't keep a record.
I hope to meet all of you in the near future and look foward to future discussions.
I am definitely not your typical subscriber, and my primary attributes would seem at first to be an oxymoron - an engineering computer science teacher who is a fundamentalist Christian. Yet, the more I study scripture, the more obvious it becomes to me that these two views are completely compatible. Just to clarify: my interpretation of "fundamentalist" is one who believes that the Bible in its original textual form is absolute truth, the result of mens' writing under the leadership of the Holy Spirit. Moreover, that same Holy Spirit is present in the world today, and continues to reveal truth to those who would hear Him.
Being a newbe to this world, if we need a separate conversation on this topic, you might have to show me where to look.
Hi all! :) Welcome to the forum!
Hey, welcome all you new people. Hope you enjoy your visits here to LitNet! :)
Hello everyone! welcome to LitNet :D
Without further ado, I would like to introduce myself. My name is Morwen and I am utterly devoured by literature. A long and winding road leading through many literature forums has finally brought me here. I look forward to this new adventure. (^_^)
well... you sound just about everyone else here. crazy about literature and sure proud of it! welcome and i hope you will find this just as fun as we have. i think everyone on LitNet would agree.
Hm, I am just a wonderer who hopes to find others as I- nothing less. AT least here, I can express who I am- in the real world, I am mocked. haha, Mocking encourages me, yet some real encouragement would truly do better. I also enjoy encouraging others and help them become better at what they love- to write and read!
peace upon u all

Hi, I am waft, I have a burgeoning novel, write poetry, and a lifelong love of the written word, so I am glad to have found this forum.
I look forward to talking with you.
Hello everyone. Newbie to the site.
I am a novelist, who also writes poetry, creative nonfiction and the odd short story now and again; I'm also a doctoral student in Missouri, specializing in creative writing.
Hello!
I am new to this site and found it by chance when I was up in the wee hours of the morning. I have a beautiful new baby and find I need to keep my mind active! Adult conversations and books other than Peter Rabbit! I love Shakespeare and write a bit of poetry when I have time ;) I am looking forward to many discussions!
I am new to this network and I was happy when I found this place on the internet where people fond of books and reading just like myself can meet and know each other. My name is Mounir, I am a 50 ys old male working and living in Alexandria, Egypt. I am a psychiatrist and I am fond of reading and knowing about all the world cultures, literature, history, mythology, history of ideas and philosophy. I am also naturally interested in books about psychology, psychiatry and psychotherapy. I am also fond of classical music whether oriental or western, long walks, cats, and a bit of cooking !
At present I am reading again all the works of Naguib Mahfouz, last week I finished "A begining and an end", one of his earliest novels. Last year and this year I also read some works by Henrik Ibsen, I especially liked "The Wild Duck" and "Doll's House". At the same time I am reading several collections of short stories: works by Maupassant, "Exemplary Tales" by Cervantes, and a collection by the Russian writer, actor and cinema director Vasily Shukshin.
Best wishes to everybody :)

Hi
I just registered at this Literature Network Forums and wish to say hi.
Unfortunately, you will probably notice that I will not be a very interesting partner and precious adviser as I have to admit I am french and have only a poor english language usage. I am not at all involved into high litterature studies or works , and am only a ordinary book reader .
What do I do there , you might then ask ?
Well , I happen to read books in english just to try keeping a practice and also books of english/american writers in french .
I recently read Jane Eyre of C Bronte (in french) , and really liked that book . It was a long time I had not enjoyed such a novel . I loved it so much , that I read just then after Wuthering Heigts , then again Jane Eyre , but this time in English ( I help myself with the french version ) , Wide Sagasso Sea , and finally C. Bronte by E. Gaskell . Going on the net , I try to learn more about the Bronte sisters and on that site I found the most interesting discussions and information than anywhere else .
So , I decided to register . I may not be able to add much value , but I may keep practicing , reading english and learning from all of you.
