"Darn it," when the needle is blunt?
"Blast it," when the powder is damp?
Hi, Pen,
Here's my stab at it...
"That sucks!" when the vacuum is broken. :D

Oh, yeah! Exactly! http://www.cosgan.de/images/midi/haushalt/d025.gif
This should be easy enough, but you never know how people think.
You are camping in the mountains, and return to your camper at nearly dark almost frozen, nearly starved, and with the battery in your flashlight (torch) on it's last legs. A storm is coming in that will keep you confined to the camper at least three days. No problem. You have a kerosene (paraffin) space heater with plenty of fuel, a propane cook stove and enough food, and a Coleman ™ lantern for light. However, you can only find one match. What do you light first, given that if you fail you could freeze, starve, or have to stay in the dark a good bit of the time? http://www.cosgan.de/images/midi/konfus/a015.gif
The match!! :D

Ah, yes. Robin remembers that I write mysteries concerning 30's and 40's era mobsters. Concrete shoes-- feed the fish. Bump off and dump in the woods-- feed the worms. They disposed of their enemies very well! http://www.websmileys.com/sm/violent/sterb003.gif
Though there are none as fast as me,
I can be stopped: And that quite easily.
I know the whole Earth from dust to spire,
Yet there are places I may not enter uninvited, like some vampire.
Formost and Firstborn, that is what some say--
See the answer on a Sundail; Shadow points the way...
What is it?
Light.
