Why am I soo tired lately, the last 2 nights I went home and did nothing. Could it be the heat? Is Mercury in retrograde?
Perish the thought! :eek2: Mercury doesn't go retro again until mid-July. Blame the heat, which in your part of the world is usually accompanied by soul-sapping humidity, isn't it?Quote:

I am very distracted and absent minded (OK, fine... old age is taking its toll on me!)
Had to go to the supermarket twice because I forgot some of the things I needed to buy...
And I realised I had left my car unlocked
And forgotten to pay for the parking ticket as well
Very luckily didn't get caught as the attendants are very eager to put the tire clumps (and charge £60 to remove them).
Since my mental capacity was not very promising, I decicated the day to 'menial' tasks: washed the curtains;dried and ironed them and cleaned the windows as well! (very becoming considering my 'pleb' origins)
Instead of finishing C & P, I think I will read some silly books as well today.

Oddly, the last time this occurred, about one or two months ago, I finished my play, which, if I understand, Mercury's retrograde often affects any artist's creativity. :confused:Quote:

What the fortune cookie printed this evening: "Luck is the residue of design."
I have a recipe for fortune cookies... this gives me evil ideas.
I tried a fortune cookie recipe for Chinese New Year's --I know they aren't really Chinese -- for my daughter's Girl Scout troop. They didn't turn out so well. Let me know if you try yours and how the cookies come out? Please and thank you. :)Quote:

Why do they put Cheese in the pizza crust, isn't there enough cheese on top?? Don't get me wrong, I love cheese, but sometimes it's just too much.
Americans ;)

THE TOP 10 LESSONS I LEARNED FROM CHARLIE BROWN
For 50 years the daily comic strip "Peanuts" entertained millions of readers. Every day, the adventures of Charlie Brown, Snoopy, Linus and the whole gang provided many laugh-out-loud moments while at the same time offering a daily inspiration and lessons on life.
With the death of "Peanuts" creator Charles Schulz, I reflect on how much I enjoyed sharing the adventures of the "Peanuts" gang and I remember the many lessons they taught me...
1. It's okay to be afraid... just don't let your fears control you. Charlie Brown often sat in bed and spoke of his fears, but no matter how scared he was, he always did the things he wanted to do.
2. Persistence wins out. Charlie Brown often lost, failed at much, but he never gave up. Even though he knew Lucy was going to pull the football away before he could kick it.... Even though he knew the tree was going to eat his kite... Even though he knew his team would lose the ball game, he kept on trying.
3. It's what you think of yourself that matters most. Linus carried a security blanket for years and his friends laughed at him. They also laughed at him because he believed in the 'Great Pumpkin.' Pigpen was a walking cloud of dust and dirt and was often regarded unkindly. Both characters, however, were always proud of themselves and believed they were as good as anybody else -- and they were right.
4. Sometimes you need to talk. One thing the 'Peanuts' gang understood was the importance of talking things out. Whether leaning up against Schroeder's piano or atop the brick wall, they always had someplace to discuss what was of concern to them.
5. Sometimes you need to listen. Even crabby, self-indulged Lucy knew the importance of listening. She started the famous 'Psychiatry Booth' where any and all could come and be heard.
6. Do what you love to do. Through all their adventures, Schroeder remained constant in his appreciation of Beethoven and his love of playing the piano. He loved to play piano and that's what he did, regardless of the circumstances. Charlie Brown flew his kite, played baseball and football, not just to win (he knew he wouldn't), but because he loved to do those things.
7. It's important to have friends that care. The 'Peanuts' gang was made up of individual characters, each with their own foibles and talents, but through it all they were always there for each other.
8. Big dreams lead to big things! Snoopy was the biggest dreamer of them all, but his wild imagination often led to even wilder, more fantastic adventures in real life. Snoopy knew that you must have a big dream if you are going to lead a big life.
9. Action creates reality. As Charlie Brown was reminded time and again after prodding from Linus: it takes action to bring about change. Though he often failed, Chuck took action quite regularly... and every now and again things would go his way.
10. Laugh every day! While the kids themselves may not have seen the humor in the things they did, Schulz made sure that *we* did. Life is only as serious or as humorous as YOU make it... Lighten up. Go play softball. Fly a kite. Dance with your dog. Smile... it makes people wonder what you're up to.

Accidently swallowed my gum watching this.
thats gross
random thoughts abound.
My perceptors have missed the steady stream of airborne electrons intercepted regularly from the mothership, and now all that is playing in the screen of my mind is static - random bits of code and information jumbled together as complete nonsense.
Maybe if i concentrated i could peer through the static and determine the nature of the picture, the message being sent.
It dawns on me that there is no message, no point from the mothership. Now there is nothing but silence, and for the first time in my life, my thoughts are random, not controlled by the mothership, not beamed directly into my head.
Not beamed directly into my head from the mothership, the television, the radio, the music abounding from the bass-soaked gangsta in the car next to mine. No billboards no signs nothing is now being beamed directly into my head, and now there is static - nothing but static - the remains of all those messages, reverberating in my now empty cerebrum.
A new-found sense of hope springs from within as I realise my thoughts can be my own, that this noise pollution, this destruction of intellectual property and production, can be fought off.
What is this? Now I can THINK?
I shy away from the possibility.
I shrink from the chance.
I retract from the very idea.
And simultaneously, I embrace the newfound freedom, the cutting of this intellectual umbilical chord, this freedom from the mothership.
Maybe without all this noise, I can have an original thought.
Maybe...
Maybe...
but (the TV Says) I doubt it.
I doubt it.

Accorrding to a book called 1000 Dangerous things in everyday life:
Teddy bears are more dangerous than Grizzlies.
150 people a year (mostly male people) are injured by bras.
Being short may shorten your life span.
Gardening and good friends improve the quality of life.
A weekend retreat doesn't feel like much of a retreat if you come home at nights.
They put cheese in the crust because it's good. There are better places to go than the chain places (Dominos, Papa Johns, Pizza Hut, etc.). I say the more cheese the better!!Quote:
