What is your instinctive reaction when encountering a socialist?
I would guess, in your question, that I would only know that someone was a socialist by the amount of talking that they are doing. And most people, who talk too much have what I like to call Diarrhea Of The Throat. So my instinctive reaction would be to diagnose said individual with D.O.T. and not have an opinion on their being a socialist.
Are you able to give public speeches, or does the very thought freeze you?
It has taken years to get over the terror, but I am now able to give occasional talks and lessons as assigned. When I was in 1-12 grades (I missed K for some reason) I took sick days when having to give book reports and the like and never made them up. I'm still working on "Talking Head" syndrome when giving lessons, and keeping my head raised when speaking from a prepared talk (no teleprompters).
A poem I wrote about the subject:
Jelly Legs
It happened on what started as a normal Sabbath Day
A Councilor out prowling the Ward for His prey
Through the corridors in his dark suit and tie
Searching for me, though I knew not, nor why
I had but adjourned from the Sunday school class
To spend a penny, washed up, then alas
Exiting the room our eyes met and locked
Now it's three weeks later: Time to give a talk

What musical instrument have you always wished to play?
Guitar and piano:
• I have an electric guitar (needs servicing) and amp (somewhat recently) and someday will get it all altogether.
• I took 1-piano lesson at West Valley College, Saratoga, CA in the '80's (my SO at the time talked me into discontinuing)... though, I have written a piece of music for the piano using the free open-source program MuseScore: https://musescore.org/en (with a number of variations) that I 'perceived' in what is best described as a lucid dream. It's a little thing but precious to me.

Woodstock would have been awesome! I wish I could have seen Jimmy play in person too...
I have been experiencing the oddest forum behaviors when accessing LitNet for some time... but I take them on as a challenge. I starting using a VPN this week and just today I had to change my VPN settings or pages wouldn't load (Europe works so far). My favorite challenge was solved after finding I could post using a legacy Apple browser on my Win 10 machine - where the posting window was a small rectangle accessible for only 40 seconds (then disappear!) before I had to refresh the page and start all over. I hope I've been the only one affected. But, all in all, my forum experience has been getting better. (Must remember to copy and paste if necessary).
