did you cry at the end of the fellowship of the ring?

What was your favorite movie you saw last year?
yayy, thank you muse!
its sacrifice by zella day, yellow flicker beat by lorde, and you make me wanna die by the pretty reckless. I look forward to hearing.

oh no, wait! the fault in our stars!
what movie do you like so much that youd watch it again and again pretty much every time it on tv?
You Make Me Wanna Die hands down blew the other two out of the water for me.
I have to admit the one movie I will watch anytime I see it on tv is Jaws.
What book have you reread the most?
I'm pretty sure I read The Outsiders and Dear Enemy more than twice. Since I've been keeping track I've reread 1000 years of Solitude twice.
I did see it. I liked it. It is reminiscent of the original 3 but the parallels were starting to be a bit much.
(I like you make me wanna die out of the three, the other two seem the same)
If somebody gave you a free ticket for a trip to Antarctica would you go?

if you are watching a movie that youre not really liking all that much, will you finish it, or no?
Depends. Recently I skipped an afternoon of work and went to the movies. I did not plan wisely and the only half appealing movie was The Last Witch Hunter. I was ready to leave about a quarter way through but I talked myself into staying because I skipped work and darn it I was going to watch a movie. Next time I will check whats playing first before I actually tell them I have a Dr. appointment.
Have you ever done Karaoke and what song(s) are your favorite to perform?
Not Karaoke, but I do sing and play live. Favourites tend to be folky numbers because they don't require the production values you need to do more boppy stuff, and they're suitable to perform solo. I do a bit of blues and bluegrass as well. I really like performing "Dustbowl Children," "And the Band Played Waltzing Matilda," The Four Loom weaver," and a couple of Nickleback numbers, "Rockstar" and "Trying not to Love You." Both good songs. Paul Metser's, "Farewell to the Gold," is another favourite, but there are many others. For instrumentals, jigs are good because people tend to join in.
How often did you play hookie from school and were you ever caught? I would hope that only serial miscreants will reply to this question, because goody-goody two-shoes types are boring!
I skipped class once. Freshmen year, last hour Spanish. We pretended my friend got sick and we hung out in the bathroom. What can I say, I went to Catholic School.
Since mine is a goody goody answer I will ask the question again:
How often did you play hookie from school and were you ever caught? I would hope that only serial miscreants will reply to this question, because goody-goody two-shoes types are boring!
Ginger and garlic will give more added flavour.
hawkman, papayahed, I think am thinking we are just not a site full of miscreants...laughs...so maybe I can further the conversation?
what book haven't you read yet that you are really hoping to/looking forward to?
ah my questions feeling lonely!
There are too many for me to try and pick one so I was hoping someone else would answer.
The Blind Assassin by Margaret Atwood. I picked it up in the bookstore, it looks good but I need to finish The Man in the High Castle first.
What subject would you like to know more about?
well certainly all of them, even the ones im relatively good at, but pragmatically, im going to go with gardening, and investing.
this is going to be a challenging, and interactive one, I hope someone will indulge me, im finding it fascinating:
i don't have the musical knowledge to ask this as expertly as possible but im going to try. i suspect most people, when they are listening to music, sing along, or play air drums, etc.
i find myself wondering if in any given song though, when there is so much going on at once, including the singing, and the percussion (but all the other things as well too), we shift back and forth between parts, or if we stay on one part, and which part we default too (if its something other than the singing) or if you had to pick one part, which would it be and are you good enough to stay on it? or maybe you see yourself as the conductor, instructing and cueing all the parts?
so not a specific question, but rather a general area conglomeration of them.
by way of answering, so i have some context to understand your answer, could you use john newman's "love me again (remix)" please? (if there is an ep version, go with that one) that's the tune that's got me thinking this way...i absolutely love the song and im all over the map with it!
It give good flavour.
What is the last movie that you have watched ?
i recently watched the host, a movie made from the first in a series of novels by Stephanie meyer, the twilight author. pretty intriguing at first, got a little annoying throughout, but ultimately won me over by the end. I wouldn't give it a rip-roaring endorsement, but I would recommend it to certain people.
going to put my question again.

I listened to it and it doesn't move me to sing or listen more than once. If I may use the Gladys Knight classic Midnight Train to Georgia. I sing all parts of that song. The lead, the back up, everything. Until i'm out of breath. I'm not an air guitar or air drummer, except on Shout at the Devil by Motley Crue.
Does that answer the question?
What color socks do you have on?
They are different shades of blue and brown stripes
Do you have any superstitions?
Locking indoor doors. (more of an eccentricity).
What day of week do you like the best?
Monday, followed by Friday. I like the beginnings of things.
Is there a book that you're afraid to re-read because you're worried you'll not enjoy it as much or that it won't mean as much to you as the first time that you read it? If so, what book?
Yes. Blindness by Jose Saramago.
good question, I'll repeat:
Is there a book that you're afraid to re-read because you're worried you'll not enjoy it as much or that it won't mean as much to you as the first time that you read it? If so, what book?
Rabbit is Rich by John Updike (and closely 2nd: catcher in the rye)
Is a life without obstacles possibly better? (I could sure use a clear path right now)
Possibly, we always tell ourselves that without obstacles the good times wouldn't seem so good but I would like to give it a try.
Is there ever a point where one should give up an lower their standards?
Anyone voting for Donald Trump has obviously given up and sunk as low as they can go.
Unless they've just bought Mein Kampf.
Would you like a newly published and annotated copy of Mein Kampf?
No thank you.
What is the last book that made you cry?
Seveneves, by Neal Stephenson.
It only made me cry figuratively, I didn't really cry. It was a 31 hour audiobook and perhaps the worst story I have ever listened to. Who told Neal that it was okay for him to break the golden rule of writing; show, don't tell. Of the 31 hours, I would reckon 15 of those hours were dedicated to exposition. It was mind-numbing.
If you changed your name to that of any fictional character, who would it be?
Gatsby
same question
Mordred, unless he wasn't fictional. He is my sort of hero.

What decade(any century) besides this one would you prefer to live in, if forced to choose?
(THIS ONE USED TO BE PRETTY GOOD).
A century in which I could not be forced to choose.
If you organized a new political party, what would you name it?
I was going to pick The Canadian Conservative Reform Alliance Party (CRAP), but sadly that's been used already.
I think the Direct Democracy party.
If you had to sink a major European or North American country into the sea Atlantis style which would you choose and why?
Do I have to pick just one?:ciappa: Oh, this is so juicy. I could go to town here... Let's see, if just one I guess France for acting like such a bunch of female sex organs every time we need them to let us fly our planes over their air space in order to protect their arses in another war, not to mention harboring terrorists numerous times and thumbing their noses at us with glee. On the other hand, there's Germany...
If you could only date/sleep with men/women from one country for the rest of your life, which one would it be and why?
China/Taiwan or any country where women have really dark hair and wear it long.
What first name would you have chosen for yourself?
