I would ask if the child had anyone they could be with (Mom, Dad, etc.), and I would try to be comforting, maybe give them a tissue if I had one, but I would try not to be scary, too, because that would just make it worse!

sure, yes. If the person is dead. Besides, there's such an over-population of people one would not be missed, you'll survive longer and everyone deep, deep insides (at least once) has wondered what human meat tastes like. :p
