yes, if i KNEW...ya know?

I don't know. It depends how big are the sums and about the thief too. But I probably would.
If yu were offered an option, where you could end either:
*all wars
*famine
*all diseases
*poverty
*all ecological problems (deforestation, acid rains et cetera)
*something else
BUT, it has a price. You and all of your family would die instantly.
Would you accept, and if you would, which problem would you end?
Well my dying wouldn't really be a problem but I'd have to think about my family. I know it's egoistic to care about your relatives when you could save the world but still I think I wouldn't do it. I hope I would, I don't know. If I did it I'd like to finish all wars so that everyone could live in peace, because everyone deserves it.
Would you like to live on another planet?
oh sure. but not until i'm done with this one. and i would like a travelogue first, please. :)
would you convert to another religion to marry someone you love?
Certainly not. There's no way I'd get married!
Would you sell your soul to the devil if you knew it would allevaite the suffering of the world?
well that presupposes the existence of the devil which i dont buy.
would you change your username if it would keep alot of other users from being offended?
There is a bit of a contradiction in selling your soul to the devil to do good, isn't there?
and to answer vbm's question I would, because if you can prevent offending others you should.
If you had to choose between giving up freedom of speech or freedom of religion wwhich one would you choose (if you could actually give up the one without the other).
poehee99:
No there isn't. You assume that good and evil are inextricably polarised. They are not. When people commit the most monstrous crimes, they are assumed by large numbers of the general populace to be inherently evil, and without any redeeming qualities. This is obviously wrong. Even Stalin or Hitler had more human traits than the evil monsters they are portrayed to be.
Neither speech nor religion seem particularly free to me. There are legal restrictions on what you can say, and much religious belief is a result of cultural conditioning. But if the question is rephrased as "what would you prefer to give up the idea of free speech or the idea of freedom of religious belief", then I think it is dependent on whether freedom of religious belief means compulsory religious belief or no religious belief. In the case of the former, I would rather (marginally) give up free speech to preserve my intellectual integrity. In the case of the latter, I would give up freedom of religious belief any day.
The Oxford theologian Keith Ward has recently written a book in which he claims the world is now ready for religious convergence. Can the world ever unite in its religious belief? After all, don't most religions believe in their own absolute truths, which differ from religion to religion?
AP? where is your "would you".
im confused....
Actually, I'm the one whose confused. Didn't quite understand this thread. So anyway, here's my would you. Would you kill a dictator, if it definitely meant saving numerous lives?
I probably would not be able to, I strongly dislike violence asa solution to anything.
Humans are strange creatures - I might be able to kill if the same dictator was trying to kill just one person right here before me. I would not even have to be numerous lives - just one, here. But planning for an execution I probably just could not do.
Would you be a dictator if you thought that that was the only way for your country to live in peace?
No. Not unless I knew that was the only way for my country to live in peace. But quite honestly, I'm not a great fan of nation-states and the nationalism / patriotism that goes with it. I see no reason to align myself with a concept that I am associated with merely out of the accident of birth. Of course, I have many individuals to thank for who and what I am, but that is a very different matter to becoming nationalistic etc. In my book, individuals are always more important than groups, people are more significant than states.
Someone you love has murdered someone. Would you inform the police if you knew? or would you protect them from prosecution? Lets say you know they would never do it again.
I think it would depend on the circumstances... that is a tough call..
Would you marry for money?
No, and I know this first hand.Quote:

Been there, done that. Several times.
If offered a choice, would you rather live to 60 and die peacefully in your sleep or to 68 and die painfully but quite quickly or to 75 and die a horribly painful death?
I would live to 60 and die peacefully. It would be easier on my family that way, and then I can be assured that I had some say in what would happen to my remains (in hope that there were organs that could be used to save others, and no one had to spend more thatn 10k on a funeral for me.)
Would you tell an acquaintance that they had a booger hanging from their nose, or let them walk away in that predicament?
I would tell them... Especially if I don't like them much.
Would you revive old game threads to have more games to play? :D
I could :p
Would you like to play? :D
You know I would.
Would you choose truth or dare?
Truth.
Would you exaggerate your skills/abilities/knowledge in your CV/resume?
I probably would...a bit...if the lie is not blatant like saying I'm a genius in maths when I can't do the simplest sum without a calculator...
Would you eat something you really dislike just to please someone, eg you're a guest at someone's?
I have too many times, but not if it contains meat.
Would you sleep in a house deemed haunted?
Yeah, I have, lol. Nothing happened whatsoever... if so, I slept through it :p
Would you like to timetravel?
yeah. Who wouldn't?
Would you like to die in a blazing inferno pf pain?
*expects same answer*
Though I do not consider myself a Hedonist, it does not sound particularly appealing.
(I hope you feel much, much better soon, fool. Small amounts of caffeine with low sugar have shown good results in getting rid of migraines :))
Would you make yourself blunt and straight-forward in avoiding someone who annoys you, or "grin and bear it," so to speak? :p
Grin and bear it. I can never bring myself to hurt someone's feelings if it can be avoided.
Would you skydive?
will do just that next month...can't wait!! :D
would you sit in a 'kiss for a dollar' booth for charity?
No - too shy. I would try to find charity in different ways.
Same question.
Ehm.. noop. Bad breath, I'm afraid. Would be afraid that I would have to give people money to kiss me ;) Would also have to find other ways for charity.
Would you apply for a job you really want and would get if you know you're colleague wants and needs it more than you do?
Not if they needed it more than me!
Same question!
It would depend on two things: 1) Am I happy at my current job & 2) Do I like my co-worker.
Would you rob a bank if you knew you would never be caught?
No I dont think so
a) because it would be cheating and get rid of the nice justified feeling you get when you are paid and
b) It would take the fun out of it, why rob if there is no risk involved??
Would you consider space travel??
YES COUNT ME IN..... I wanna meet some Klingons and Andorians and most of all Vulcans....
would you date a gorgeous person with no brain?
well d***ed if i'm not trying to.
and d***ed if i don't feel terrible about it.
and d***ed if i tell myself every day i shouldn't even try.
and d***ed if i didn't call her ten minutes ago
and d***ed if i didn't get an answering machine again
and d***ed if i wasn't half relieved half dissapointed.
and d***ed if i do
and d***ed if i don't.
would you date someone you knew was going to die in two years?
yes but thats 2 years away
would you bungee jump?
No. *sheepish grin*
Would you dress up in period style as a member of the opposite sex for fun, at a party where you knew a lot of people (and perhaps didn't want to be recognised :D)? *even sheepier grin*
*thinking hard* No, because I am a perfectionist.. and I would be afraid that my voice gives me away.. Though I might be able to play a boy. Hmm. Difficult. If I didn't want to recognized I would probably try to disguise my face with a veile or lots of make-up..
Would you adopt a child?
I'd rather adopt, I wouldn't wish my genes on anyone.
There's enough kids in the world without parents... I wouldn't adopt unless I was married, though.
would you date someone who barely spoke your language?
I've never dated/been slightly liked by anyone whose native language was the same as mine (oh ok except once), so I guess I would again... unless you mean that we have no languages in common, then I might not... I get hugely bored if I cant talk. (there was a guy in Hungary who once seemed to be trying to ask me out but his English was terrible and my Hungarian even worse...so I just avoided him). But if the guy is interesting and we can somehow communicate, then I might try anyway....(thinking of a guy I had some sort of conversations with even if the situation was the same as the abovementioned one).
Would you learn Chinese?
Sure, but I do not think I would choose it as my first preference for another language.
Do you think you would respond well to an emergency situation (i.e. an accident or someone dying)?
