perched precariously now
sings of loneliness
A smile slowly forms
dissolving melancholy
I can start anew

raining hard and fast
i felt a small bit annoyed
then i remembered
how beautiful plants
become after a spring wash
they sing out with joy
Row of tiny sprouts,
Barely poking leaflets out,
Corn crop coming in...
Cardinal flashes bright red,
Sings a song of "Wet, wet, wet."
Crops are needing rain...
Tiny Tendrils form,
Pumpkin vines sown among corn,
Halloween in time...
Catbird harmony,
Imitate any sound at all,
That he ever hears…
Life in the country,
The air is clear, plant my seed
Call it “Heavenly”…
pen, thank you...i can smell the rain...
awoke to the sound
the birds reflect a new life
eagerly i wait
Eagerly I wait
For my new Life to begin;
May it be better!
may it be better
this time around said the rock
last time was tougher
Swirling in my Head
Are many Phrases; which ones
Should become Haiku?
gee, it's almost time
i run to catch the swift wind
it is hard to find
Tossing and turning
the crackling leaves spin downward
to brighten the path
Orange red and brown
the brilliant colours of fall
sad skeletal limbs
The ragged branches
claw silently at the sky
searching for some warmth
Finally the thaw
the geese can find their way back
my forest awakes
How rich the foliage
lush trees and flowers blooming
green fills the senses
rain turns slick shingles
to tin, bouncing water claps
on an empty cup.
April showers make
Way for May flowers today;
May they bloom better!
today i turned back
the old clock from yesterday
it started to tick
Time is precious, for
It can be easily lost
If one is careless.
Leafless spindles climb
air, tackling the void with care,
streaming toward white clouds.
My Mind constantly
Seeks the correct Answers to
My many Questions!
lighting the candle
the light ended the darkness
patiently waiting
Adopt, awaken,
Assimilate and adapt
Adeptly always!
gee its time to go
my eyes are crying for rest
until tomorrow
Thank God It's Friday,
Especially one with a
Holiday Weekend!

Empty Nest
May has come and gone—
The sand pours through the hourglass,
So very swiftly…
Seems like yesterday,
My son was a little boy—
Graduates this year…
Bounced him on my knee,
Now six foot four, I look up
At the man he is…
I held my girl tight,
Rocked her gently to sleep, my—
Twenty, I am old…
The baby boy grown,
Towers taller than me now—
And he’s just fifteen…
You spend so much time,
In effort as walk and talk—
Then “Sit down, shut up!”
The day comes, they go,
Silence makes awful sounds—
Little feet, now gone…

I loved that
the mute wind smiled
racing by the bright blue sky
caught the fleeting tail
My Family is
Well, yet, I am not content;
How will I find peace?
brilliant tall and proud
half grown he chose the service
for the name freedom
Searching for Peace
Are you sure you haven’t?
Gentle Zephyr blowing by,
Fragrance drifts near…
Colors paint Sunset
On idyllic autumn afternoons—
Yet is this not peace?
Birds singing chorus
Insects and evening frogs join—
Joyful noise resounds…
Walk silent woodlands,
See what noisy people miss—
Chipmunk, lizard, deer…
Heron stalking creek,
Fox out hunting cottontails,
Showy Orchis bloom…
Down a trail waterfalls,
Whispers secrets in the mist,
Known to you alone…
Tucked away, hid
Now where few remember them
Monoliths share thoughts…
Sometimes forget where
The beaten pathway takes you—
Find peace on your own
