Eliot
Abbot or Costello?
I love abbott and Costello! I grew up watching their movies, have them all, watch some occasionally and id love to read a book on their lives.
gotta go with Costello---otherwise, no laughter.
morning person or night owl?
Night person at heart, but life is full of concessions.
Liberal or conservative?
Neither, but If I have to choose then conservative because nearly everyone I know is a true blue liberal and I like to bother them by not agreeing with them all the time. I don't think 'left' and 'right' are meaningful distinctions either. I prefer Peter Hitchens to Christopher Hitchens if that helps.
Communism or Capitalism?
Capitalism. As Churchill said of democracy, it is the worst possible system except for all the others.
Edward Snowden: hero or traitor?
From what I know about him, hero.
Coffee or tea?
COFFEE!
But if there's no coffee, green tea or oolong?
Oolong, but between green, white and oolong I have no strong preference.
Black or pu'er, tea.
In the West, I think they are the same thing (called red tea in the Far East). But if you mean that toxic stuff from Sri Lanka (which I think is called black tea in India), then no, give me pu'er any day.
"Indians" or "Native Americans"?
Native Americans. India is a country in Asia.
Drawing or painting?
if we are talking about me as artist, I cant do either well, so the lesser of the two evils is probably drawing. unless we are talking paint by numbers---then it might be painting.
coke or pepsi?
Coke by a mile.
Honey or sugar (for sweetening drinks).
Neither, Clopin. I'm sweet enough.
Surf or turf?
oh heck im a vegetarian and answered one like this before! ack!
i'll take the turf if you put a gun to my head.
star trek or star wars?
laughs...I have never eaten clams, but I do come from a part of the state where "clambakes" are popular so ive had the opportunity.
even though they seem to fall outside my Kellogg's prescription of having eyes or try to get away, I probably wouldn't eat them.
I like both kirk and picard, but the nod to picard who is one of my top two all time favorite fictional characters. the other is Sherlock holmes.
sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't:
almond joy or mounds?
Almond Joy. I feel like a nut.
Professor Moriarty or Colonel Sebastian Moran?
have to go with moriarty as he is the deeper, more pervasive villain.
holmes or poirot?
Don't make me laugh.
Sherlock or Mycroft?
oh poor hercule! supposedly someone wrote a little 25ish page manuscript called "the Belgian at baker street." I'd love to see that.
I like Mycroft, but must go with Sherlock. (see post #19567 for reference!)
mitch rapp or jack reacher? (I am thinking of making a thread having something to do with that)
I like this game so im hoping it doesn't fade away into oblivion....am hoping a repost can revive it.
mitch rapp or jack reacher?
trying again...(somebody help the boy!)
mitch rapp or jack reacher?
(lol)... Out of my depth here... had to google. After quick analysis I'll sway to Jack Reacher by a TKO.
Inspired by another thread: "Winnie the Pooh" or "Through the Looking Glass" ?
laughs...thank you thank you!
so you've not read either of those authors. vince Flynn wrote (he's deceased) counter-terrorism stuff (mitch rapp) and lee child writes detective/crime/drama (jack reacher).
I like both pooh and alice...but my nod goes towards Winnie. the stories are lovable and if you are going to write/read kids' stuff, I think lovable wins out over weird.
john wayne as cowboy or john wayne as military?
John Wayne as cowboy (Liberty Valance & True Grit)... I'd be loath to recall one of his many war films.
Fahrenheit 451 or Slaughterhouse 5 ?
ive not read slaughterhouse 5 yet, but I did read cat's cradle and I didn't enjoy it at all. its been years since I read Fahrenheit 451, but I remember enjoying it, and so id go with that.
classics or contemporary best sellers?
Classics easily.
Frogs or toads ?
I like both. I used to catch toads in my grandmothers cellar and frogs in her pond ^.^
Toads, I suppose, are a bit cuter, so I pick them.
Rats or Snakes? (in your house)
Both. Then I'd feed the rats to the snake.
Lauren Bacall (ca. 1953) or Ingrid Bergman (ca. 1943)?
Bacall... Acting performances not taken into account.
Milton or Dante? (as room mates)
Violent and quick of course, though a plane crash wouldn't be my ideal death.
Kitsch or academic?
Academic.
No, no, it has to be a plane crash. Just like the one in France, let's say. That or a quiet death in your sleep after years of Althziemers?
It's still the plane crash.
Yeah, me, too. I'll try to remember that if I'm ever in a plane crash.
Next question?
Oh yeah...
Fight a cobra with your hands tied behind your back or fight a tiger with a metal club?
ummm... I'll take the cobra.
Elephants or rhinos ? (your own scenario)
elephants
bbc or other news network?
i don't see much bbc here in the states, though i do know its here. i don't watch much news, but more news/commentary. so I'd go with "other."
