I prefer (and immodestly suppose) to know a little about a wide range of topics. Becoming a genius in one specific field seems a little bit limiting. I know a few geniuses practicing in different academic fields, but they couldn't start a simple campfire to save their lives, or fix their own cars, or sail a boat, etc.....
Easy way out: Same question: narrow field of interest with complete knowledge, or general aptitude in many areas?
