At the moment I only read good books, and as I have to critique them I tend to read them rather closely. Consequently, I don't give up on them 'cause they're bad. I do tend to dip in and out of anthologies of criticism though, cherry-picking the relevant essays! 0 abandoned novels this year!

Dude. As most people do, my coworkers and I believe there should be a reality show about our workplace. The setting would be a chemical plant in the southern US. It's the classic fish out of water tale (pun intended). We have a Brazilian, a Sri Lankan, a Puerto Rican, and two Northerners trying to learn the correct usage of the term "y'all".
