I've never used weed for the purpose of medicine......
same question
same answer.
Do you give yourself a present at Christmas? And if so what are planning on getting?
Weed.
You?
3 new cookbooks, about 10 other books and as I have been sober for 50 days I will be getting very very drunk.
Do you read your horoscope?
Congrats Darlin'!
Yes ... even worse, I'm slowly converting ... find it all so beautifully poetic.
If you could have chosen an astrological birth sign , which one would you have ... and why?
No, not a Troll.
What is your best memory of 2012?
A bottle of champagne to accompany surfing bio-luminescent waves through a midsummer night. Amazing.
Post-modernism or Modernism? (in literature)
Now that's a memory ... to long remember. Can't hardly wait for the book ... to follow :)
I'm not for sure ... maybe that means I think in the post-modern. In 1994, or so, How Late It Was, How Late won the Booker Prize, and it was hard for me to read, yet alone relate to its themes. Knowledge of Angels was shortlisted, and it remains my favorite novel. Truth is, I think I prefer moderism, but not sure I fully understand the difference.
How would you explain the difference between Modernism and P-M, and do you have a clear preference?
Briefly, I would suggest Modernism as trending towards the rational, organized, hierarchical, determinate, objective. Whereas Post-modernism trends towards the irrational, chaotic, anarchical, indeterminate, subjective.
My clear preference would be Post-Modernism. Thomas Pynchon is my favourite writer.
Did you travel to another country in 2012? What one(s)?
Western Samoa, Germany and U.S. Virgin Islands (not sure if it's another country).
Two questions: Which Pynchon novel is your favorite (I'd like to start a P-M adventure), and where did you surf "bio-luminescent waves through a midsummer night?"
Canada, Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.
What relative do you loath to interact with?
Well it appears I am blessed with the great fortune of answering multiple questions. You've both been all over. That's fantastic.
Hawg Horse
Gravity's Rainbow is my favourite. It is wonderfully disturbing. I'd start with Against the Day though. There's just something about it that makes it a great spot to begin.
Bio-luminescent waves were surfed at Florencia Bay on Vancouver Island after midnight this past July. Surreal.
Buh4Bee
I suppose, one of my cousins. He's quite bigoted, very ill-informed, a loud-mouth, and borderline alcoholic. Great combination of things, makes him quite charming! HA
Insomnia? Do you ever fall prey to it?
You are blessed indeed. Sounds like we may be related, or at least share a common relative. Thanx for the recommendations. I'll get back to you on Pynchon in a few weeks ... no doubt a better man.
Yes ... since my assault, I've gone to a stiff nightcap. If my insomnia persists, I may have to read the Bible for the 5th time, or worse, get married again.
Do you still maintain a land-line telephone at home?
Never suffer from insomnia- I can't sleep enough. I'd gladly sleep 12 hours a night if I could get away with it. Have always been a great sleeper. However, my husband is an insomniac.
No land line.
same question-but which will you answer?
I do. An old rotary phone. It spins wonderfully. I answer no one, I answer all. I'm confused.
Have you ever flown in a dirigible?
no.
Are you having a merry christmas if you celebrate the holiday? If not, are you having a nice day?
I am. It has been brilliant.
Do you sleepwalk?
A "brilliant day" has me thinking. I guess that means you were brilliant in the day, or that the happenings of the day were enlightening, or perhaps the time within the day itself took on a human quality, with a mind of its own. I like the coupling.
Hope today is another.
Yes, but only twice that I remember. Both times were during periods of high stress. Once I awoke on the stairs, another time in the kitchen. On both occaisions I had no memory of how I got there, or what skulduggery may have happened enroute.
I put the question back to you (?).
PS: What's a dirigible?
No I don't sleepwalk.
I got snowed in today, what would you do if you got snowed in?
If I got snowed in... I'd likely curl up in bed all day with a couple books, watch a film, drink copious amounts of various herbal teas.
Would you live on a sailboat. If yes, where? If no, why not?
(PS. Hawg Horse... A dirigible is a lighter than air, airship. Like a blimp, or a zeppelin.)
Yes, and probably here and in Bermuda.
What time do you go to bed?
Before midnight.
When do you get up in the morning?
About 8 am.
How often do you change your underwear?
Everyday and when I work out twice a day.
What's the plan for New Year's Eve?
Unfortunately plans got cancelled due to plane cancellations/rescheduling. Had reservations to a really nice restaurant. Really sucks, so as of this point there are no plans.
same question

How's the New Year so far?
Lovely!
The last 3 days have been pretty typical.
How do you get to work or school?
In me very own automobile.
What do you do for work?
I'm an operations manager at a chemical plant.
Where do you want to go for your next vacation?
Hudson river valley to visit my sister.
What kind of coffee do you prefer? (If at all...)
espresso/ cappuccino
what is your favourite meal?
Breakfast on the twelves (noon or midnight).
In your astute opinion, what percent of married people cheat (not talkin' 'bout taxes here)?
I want to believe the percentage is very low because I have a great hope for humanity, 10%.
I'm curious what everyone else thinks so same question?
I would hope low as well, but I wouldn't call one out of ten people I know low haha. My blissful ignorance/optimism tells me I should say about 6%
If you could save the life of one well known person who died prematurely, who would it be?
Biggie Smalls aka The Notorious B.I.G
same Q
Let's see there are quite a few to choose from ... must be a real Hippie, right, but, can't say Jesus, 'cause he already came back to life, so the next in my life line would be Bob Marley.
I also think that percentage point, at least in the U.S., is over 20% (near 100% if you include those who've cheated in their "hearts" aka day dreams).
Do you think there are clear advantages to being formally married over merely living in a committed relationship (aka living in "sin")?
I think maybe.
Do you have any hobbies? (I'm looking for one)
Reading..
What is your most frequent dream?
I actually don't have one.
What's the best movie you've seen so far this year.
