SECOND that, Monica! It's the kind of weather that makes the flies (and others) drop dead in mid-fly. Today it does seem to be worse than yesterday, it's just UGH.

really like this blog: http://duanekeiser.blogspot.com/ - innovative and very pretty. i actually almost bid on a $100 postcard once! (very pretty, it was.) hm. weird that i never thought to use as desktop pic. anyway, i like the style, thought to share. :)
nice pics amuse....I'm gonna spend the night reading poems by Marlowe and continue my sadness 'cause of his early death.
So I assume Helga you dont belive that 'shakespear' and Marlowe are the same person??
We are going on our first LARP (live action role play) this saturday.
Weelaaah! We are very excited. We even have solved our clothing and transportation problems. Now there is only IG to think about.
Since the possibility that anyone here is going on the same LARP too is very small, we will give you infoabout our character. If you are taking part of it, don't read any further!Name: Taliesin. It is a celtic LARP. We are playing a bard. Our IG explanation to the name is that our father was also a bard and therefore named his only son after a legendary minstrel.
Age: 20 or 21.
The game focuses on a conflict between Vikings and Celts.
We are serving the king. Very loyal to him. And therefore we have done some things that the king may misunderstand - we have talked to a certain innkeepress and she has revealed her secret - she is gathering information and we are her eyes and ears in the court. To put it simple, we are spying for her. We believe she is up to no good and that someone (we) must know what she is up to. We have told the king about our suspicions, but he thinks that we are being paranoid (and OOG we agre with him)
So we are sortofa double-agent.
Also we hope that a merchant gives us some rare herbs that allow us to see the future. The old witch will be dead soon and we don't know whether her successor will help us perform the rite.
There are so many chances to do something wrong. Say the innkeepress is actually innocent and we are causing confusion. Say that she gives use a secret, but it is a false one andwhen we tell it to the king, they will understand that we were never on their side. Or say they trust us, but then the king finds out and misunderstands...
Or maybe the king is forced to abdictate and they come to power and perhaps they understand that we were never loyal to them...
And the innkeepress has had much much more LARP experience than we. She has a greater probability to outdiplomate us.
The only good thing is that bards have sort of a immunity. Bards are not allowed to be killed. (say when a commander would kill an enemys bard, his own men would kill him in shock)
But actually we are looking forward to it.
Random thought: seasonal allergies can feel very distracting while taking an exam. Somehow, Sneezy of the Seven Dwarfs and answering multiple choice questions do not mix.

Hey! That dwarf's giving me the finger!
Naughty dwarf!
Orcs are so much cooler but elves are pretty cool.
Self-celebration moment for getting scarily high marks in 2 tests (one of Russian, one of French) I took in the past few days. I'm almost scared of myself. Shame that's just like 5% of all I have to do and doesnt count much... but it's good for the moral of the troops (my braincells ;))

Oops, I did it again. Unhealthy form of fascination for character recently met online, lots of fan in chatting, and even more unhealthy thoughts of meeting him in real life... Not good, I don't want to make illusions. (btw, he forgot my name... ).
-----------------------------
More languages tests tomorrow. And on Friday. And next week.

A bit too random.

I should take the afternoon off and go for a long walk.
Life is made better by a pet bunny.
Bunnies only look cute, they are in fact the spawn of satan. Sitting there quietly lurking at the back of their cage, then just when they've lulled you into a false sense of security they try to take a bite out of your ear.
like cats...they are EVIL!
 Koa, i can't help it, this guy today said that at work, and it turned out two cats own him, he just wanted to see if he could get a rise out of anyone - course no one :D there loves Cats!
DOGS, all the way :p (they're not as difficult to own as horses :D)

You bet. Mice too.
Flowers for Algernon to that.
I agree, rats and mice are enjoyable.
Enjoyable how? Over dinner?
I was referring to as a pet, but over dinner works as well =)
Random thought: interesting how different cultures, and/or sub-cultures, especially those connected through music, literature, etc., result in looking much like each other. Yesterday, having forgotten of a big event of an 80's band scheduled to play at a very large venue, I walked nearby toward a public-transit stop from my favorite coffeehouse. I have no intention of offending anyone, as even I like a lot of 80's rock, but never have I encountered so many mullets.
