'twas the night before Thanksgiving
and all through the...
"This is an emergency alert -
all residents are advised to shelter in place",
(thunder rolled), - "This is not a test -
all residents are advised to shelter in place -
It has been reported by NORAD that a space
monster is in your vicinity -
This is not a test"
I thought briefly of taking the alert to heart
but to my uttermost astoniment decided to depart
peradventure to ascertain for myself
whether solid, or some fashion of gelatinity,
winged, or whatever - I took my blunderbuss
off the mantelshelf
and slipped off into the night nonplussed
the rain came down in sheets
as I entered my rustbucket and hit the streets
heading north by northwest
and there it was...
next to a flying saucer all abuzz
three meters tall - the space monster gazing
at an electronic contrivance
pointed at a pasture with three cows grazing
and gave it a second glance
and poof!
'twas lightning came down heaven sent
which startled the cows, no longer content
I bundled up the dead space monster
into the bed of my rustbucket as proof -
durn'd if it didn't look like a tardigrade
as it were,
and since it smelt like chicken right off the spit
I knew I had my Thanksgiving dinner
figgered out... just needed a marinade -

Now, that's what I call the lolhorror Sci-Fi genre! My sympathy is all with the cows. But I hope your Thanksgiving turkey will be all rised on earth. Else one doesn´t know what poems may come next.:D

A Poem as Quiet as a Doormouse
Fancy a serene landscape
steeped in twilight,
a bird's sleepy twitter and
the nostalgic notes of a piano
produced by the hands
of a neat old lady
beside her a cane
seated in a room
with a soft carpet, a settee
and lots of bric a brac,
all trophies of distant travels.
Under the settee,
at a safe distance
a door mouse watches
the players fingers glide
over the keys of the piano.

The Mysterious Bubble
Now, if you just listen to me
I'll tell you the story
of the mysterious bubble.
It appeared one day in the harbor
just like this.
Curious people came to visit it
and, of couse, to take a selfie
In front of it.
The press wrote daily about it.
Politicians debated about its future
Famous scientists examined it
one of them pierced it with a needle.
The bubble didn't react.
But when it was pierced repeatedly
it began to shiver and to shrink.
The flood took it.
Soon the people standing in groups
at the shore ,couldn't distinguish it
anymore in the distance.

Without subtleties
Blue Jean's was an
icon during my childhood
It was worn in fall
and all other seasons,
By men,women and children,
the universal wear
of worker and loafer.
Blue Jeans brought
a certain dress equality.
Choruses of iluminatrd mode bosses
proclaimed its excellence.
I myself used the magical
trousers, often with genuine holes
at the knees from genuine falls,
more than any other kind of clothes.
