Walakum-Asalam Tooba! Welcome to the forum! You are very right that we should try not to tease each other and we should be good to each other.
What are your hobbies and where are you from?
I am new to this site and look forward to writing, reading, and sharing my thoughts with you.
I have been around for a number of years, and have traveled extensively. I have a lot of writing to show you, and I hope to read yours as well.
Regardless of what I write on these pages, I want everyone to feel free to comment as they see fit. If I didn't want comments I wouldn't put it out here. I hope you feel the same. I don't bite (any more), and try to be as positive as I can.
Again, thank you for inviting me to the site.

I am now a member of this group because of a dear friend in San Jose, California who referred me to the book "Siddhartha" by Hesse. Both Marty and myself have been spiritually involved with life since our youth, and since moving to Thailand 3.5 years ago, I have rediscovered Lord Buddha. Marty came to visit me for a whole month in December 2003, and during that month we both had some incredible spritual experiences which changed our lives.
After relaying to Marty about a vision I had the other night in which I could see all of life throughtout the universe as a river, and each lifeform is represented as a swirling current in this Great River. Each "swirl" appears to be separate and independent from the flow, which indicates how each of us forgets we are one-and-the-same with the flow as opposed to separate-and-isolated, making us see life from a selfish perspective where obtaining our own needs is greater than any harm we might cause in its acquirement. Once we "remember" that we came from the Great Flow we can tap into its energy to achieve good for all of Life instead of draining energy from this Life Force for selfish desires.
While I had already "seen" this analogy in many meditations throughout my life, its reappearance the other night was a significant sign that I am moving forward again, and ready to see new signs. Marty recognized this, and told me that maybe I was ready for "Siddhartha" since it is mentioned in this book about the River of Life. I have read MANY books on the Buddha's life and teachings, and this newest endeavor will dovetail with my path.
My life has been, and continues to be, one of incredible adventures, and I am truly blessed to be here living in this moment of time. I also am highly blessed to have friends such as Marty.
I hope to have many wonderful moments in this group, and I send to this forum all my best hopes that each and every one of you experience happiness in abundance. :-)
Warmly,
Cole
