5% is huge, as anyone who has spent time with twins will know. my sister's kids are identical twins, so theoretically they have virtually identical genetic makeup, but the differences between them are staggering. if that 0.0002% difference in them is manifested in such varying ways, then 5 whole percent has the potential to leave a large gap indeed.
do you prefer unflavored or flavored coffee? like the amaretto or hazelnut stuff?
-
ooops...sorry Kik
and thanks by the way...
um, no i dont paint well, unless you are referring to walls? i had a really great time last year painting this house i was in as it was a "tear down" and i knew i would be the last person to live in it. i then went to the recycle depot, picked up tons of half buckets of used paint, and proceeded to mix me some new colors....it was very fun, sort of a crayola house, but it was a good experiment, because i now know much more about what works and what doesnt....
i refer you to the above coffee question.
-
Coffee, unflavoured. Just Black. But I like flavoured lattes. mmmmm
Now for the last time   Do you paint? Do you paint well?
-
Yes I paint really well! I'm fast too! I'm in middle of painting my entire apartment. Applying some `treatments' to a few walls too, one to make look like marble another to look like granite blocks. Painting on canvas is another matter. I'm slow and get too detailed and analytical about it, I need to just do it and go with the results.
What's a crazy full-moon story you have?
-
Well, once I gave the "full-moon" to a schoolbus. The driver just happened to be my county sharrif's wife . She came flying out of the bus and performed a citizen's arrest. There was no way we could run, its a small town and everyone recognises everyone else. Plus the yard that I was in belonged to the high school I was in, which the Admin had a real problem with me and was trying to expel me anyways, so if I had run they would have busted me anyways. I just had to chill there until the cops showed up and arrested me. 10 hours comunity service. Ok, so thats not what you ment by 'full-moon', but its pretty damn crazy!
Do you have a fav Short Story? If so, what is it, who wrote it, why is it your fav?
-
"The Yellow Wallpaper" by Charlotte Perkins Gilman is probably my favorite short story, partly because i love her use of perspective in the story, but also because it is so subtly layered that i read it fully seven or eight times before i felt that i had any sort of grasp on it.
staying with Kik's theme, what is your favorite poem? and why?
-
"The Tale of a Certain Fairy" (it's here) because i find "the man takes out his eyeballs and polishes them more carefully than usual" brilliant and i like the careful but flagrant whimsy Kazuko Shiraishi shows when she writes.
what is your favorite nonfiction work and why?
-
There are sooooo many different Genres within nonfiction, so forgive me if I give you more than one.
Chomsky - Understanding Power.
The most objective book about how abuse of power is practically inevitable and why our fearless leaders do the insane things that they do, and how to avoid them... kind of.
Howard Marks - Mr. Nice
I'm not a pot head, but I do enjoy the occasional green day. This book was inspiring. Marks is the biggest Marijuana smuggler in the history of the UK. His stories are fantastic.
Stephen King - On Writing
Probably the best book I've ever read about writing fiction.
That will have to do for now. :)
Are you currently a student? How much school have you finished?
-
yes, I'm currently a student, formerly a student, soon to be a student: forever a student...I have completed my Horticultural Science and Landscape Design Program, and the first two, almost three years of a Sociology degree, then switched majors and am now in my second year (three days left!!) working towards a BA major in English. then i have one year after that, to get my secondary Ed. degree, and then i am a full fledged high school English teacher, ready to be underpaid, underappreciated and overworked. YAY...im so excited. I am actually taking this summer off of school; i have done summer semesters every year since 2000. I dont know what im going to do with myself....
What kind of organizational instruments do you employ?
ie: palm pilot, dayminder, notebook, nothing at all....
-
I've got a Salvidor Dali assignment book thingy. This is the first semester that I've actually used one and WOW! Its amazing how much easier life is when I know when my essays are due!
What's your fav beer? If you don't like beer, whats your fav alchoholic beverage?
-
beer? Corona (La cerveza mas fina??) but otherwise i love amaretto, poured over ice and sipped slowly *ponders this, leaves, returns with glass of amber liquid*.
where exactly is the "happy button"? ;)
-
I was trying to put "Right in the Mommy Daddy button" but that wouldn't fit. If you still don't know what I'm talking about, take a gander at Austin Powers: Goldmember, and that should clear things up.
-
LOL
where's my question?
*looks under desk to see if it fell down there*
nope no question for me
-
oops :embarassed:
Uhh.... When was the last time you slept before 1:00 AM?
-
