Earlier this afternoon, I watched What The F*** Do We Know - a documentary/film based much on quantam physics, ontology, the origins of human thought, emotion, theology, and various phenomena (and mostly made here in Portland, Oregon), very well combining science, religion, and spirituality. :brow:
I think I want to purchase it to watch it a few more times; it discusses some relatively heavy matters, in Layman's terms, that deserves a few views. I cannot say that I agree with everything it featured (including some interviews with Ramtha), still attaching myself to that Euripides quote ex nihilo nihil fit (out of nothing, nothing comes), but I did find the film very enlightening, and it sent my thought into all sorts of fancies and caprices.
My rating: 10/10.
Last night I watched "Don Juan DeMarco" Starring Johnny Depp, Marlon Brando and Faye Dunaway. I love this movie; Marlon Brando plays a great performance and Johnny Depp too. I must confess that I have seen this movie many times. I will give it 10/10.
Last night I watched "Gladiator" - I like watching movies that Russell Glowe takes part in and this Gladiator is one of my favs - even I'm really afraid of fighting scenes, but that cant prevent me of seeing such the type). My score is 10/10 and it goes for Maximus :)
I watched "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" two days ago - well I expected much more before I saw it. Yet my score then for that movie is 5/10, nothing impresses much excepts for the two rather pretty main casts :brow:
"The forgotten" 9/10, The Human Stain 10/10 and "The notebook" 10/10, the last movie was a great romantic movie, I was all the time anxious about what is going to happen and I cried a lot at the end.. :)
I watched "Serenity" last weekend, a great sci-fi movie with an intriguing ending that I think no one would have thought of if they'd watched the earlier Firefly series. Enjoyed it very much.
9/10 and it would have been 10/10 had it been longer and able to delve into the other cast members a little more. :thumbs_up
I watched the animated movies "Madagascar" and "Robots" and I loved them both. they were funny and very ineteresting but then again almost all animated movies are...almost. :) :P
Has anyone seen "Before sunset"???
man... the first 20 min were interesting just because it was one conversation... you're of course expecting it to go somewhere from there, but NO!! The whole movie is one conversation... leading NOWHERE!! The idea was nice, but man! I found it so exhausting to watch, you're constantly listening... THEY NEVER STOP TALKING!!!
I give it one star.
A few days ago, I watched "Grave of the Fireflies" by Miyazaki (again). I really loved it even though it was very depressing most of the time. I'll give it a 10/10 and I encourage everyone to see it :)
Last night I watched a locally made film, Elephant, directed by Gus Van Sant, finally watched after much recommendations from an acquaintance who acted in it. Like all of Gus Van Sant's films, it had a very artistic quality to it - quiet, sometimes random, but interesting; the 'dryness' of plot some people refer to, I think, alludes more to the reality of each film, devoid of the glamour and special effects of many Hollywood films. Regardless, it had quite a plot, interestingly shown with multiple perspectives of cameras and characters, and several time lapses that feature the perspectives.
My rating: 8.5/10.
I watched this horror about urban legends...its bad ill give it 5/10..
I have wanted to watch this film, Elephant, for some time, after I saw it reviewed on the Movie Show here in Australia. The director Gus Van Sant intrigues me. Have you seen his new film Last Days?He appears to have a very unique perspective and his films appear so interesting in their artistic scope.
There's a little here on the site I found:

As for me:The last film I saw was actually the new Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, by Tim Burton.Has anyone else seen this?It is more of a popular choice, though it differs from the original version and contains elements previously neglected;and the oompa loompas appear even scarier this time.I always found them to be extremely unsettling as a young child, but still find them to be rather frightful;especially when they started to sing their new songs!I much prefer Willy Wonkar and the spoilt kids.Johhny Deep personifies the rather( to put it lightly) eccentric character Willy Wonkar. It was good how they included the formative years;by showing growth of being and a few little scenes of the young Wonker with his strict dentist father. This was never included at all in the earlier version. I would suggest this for families, those who have read the book or those wishing to compare the two versions.I send a little warning:for very young kids-they also might find the oompa loompas to be rather disturbing and more sinister than the very unique and outthere candyman Mr Wonka.8/10 for vision and Tim Burton, who is one of my favourite directors.
I watched Napoleon Dynamite a few days ago, and I can safely claim that it's the worst piece of crap I've watched in my entire life. Avoid it like your mental health depends on it (and it does).
Overview: 0 crisaors (with regret there is no lower grade)
Last film I watched was Lost in Translation. I give it a 8/10 - overall excellent but a little slow. I wasn't sure it was going to live up to its reputation but I think Sophia Coppola did an amazing job with this - the subtle undertones, the details, the awkward loneliness of both main characters - so well done. I recommend.
Oh, crisaror I love Napoleon Dynamite! I've watched that so many times and every time it never fails to entertain. Though I have to admit the very first time I watched it I thought it was odd - weird but then when I saw him dancing for his friend like that I don't know, it just turned the whole movie around for me and now it's one of my favorites.Quote:
