1) Certainly: Three gears up front and eight at the back = 24 gears. They are called Derailleur gears (follow the link to see a much better explanation than I could provide - Pictures really do help).
2) The mechanism moving the chain between the three front chain rings popped a rivet (turned out to be a manufacturing fault), and tried to put the chain between them instead. The chain promptly jammed, and I had to sort it out before I could put proceed. No problem as long as I refrained from changing the front gears.
Well, I do sometimes, but that is usually in the winter, when she snow impedes my progress. I have been known to bend things in those circumstances. This time however, it was he mechanism that went on the blink, and it should take no strain at all, just move the chain sideways.
:smilielol5: Well, one thing does not necessarily exclude another, but please make certain that you run first and greet the Stouts second. The other way around could spell problems (although it could be a sight for sore eyes :ihih: ).

My usual 500 meter swim. I also made a nice healthy delicious and filling dinner for the fam.
My every other day run (today was a run day).
Followed by my last serenading stout.
I parked the car and walked around everywhere today... It was great, it was refreshing and it was tiring... Hahahaha
No worries. Doing pretty good at your own cleaning and tune up is not really related to misinterpreting my post. Besides I misinterpreted your first answer as well. On the positive side, you provided me with a good old belly laugh... which I am told is good exercise, which in turn is what this thread is about.
Anyway, I'm off to the shop to collect my repaired bike tomorrow. Then I have to deal with the spare bike: I noticed today that the rear cogset is badly worn down. The cogs look more like shark fins than the cogs they are supposed to be. That is normal wear, though. I usually need to change it once a year or so.

Today I was cleaning my home in the morning - kind of exercise LOL. In the afternoon a went to the local swimming pool first relaxed in the sun then swam 1000m.
I think if I do some yoga before I go to bed it will be a perfect day!
Roller skating in 100F weather.
Swam 1000meters but after that eat 3 pieces of Tiramisu!
I am preparing to do something, that is eat a steak :)
I walked home :) and took some stairs instead of the elevator.
No biking today, but there has been no lack of physical activity: I have been applying crowbar and hammer to the garage, replacing the wall panel, so I'm feeling a bit knackered now.

I spent half the day sweating and working out, then I had a veggie burger and one too many french frys, and fighting getting hungry from the little bit of booze i have.
I sparred with Matt. My forearms have black circles on them because Matt's a kicker, the little bugger. Then when I got home I had a play fight with Dave and he kneeled on my hair and ripped a good chunk of it out so now my scalp hurts too (but I fed him some good kidney shots, so it all balances out).
walked to town (40 mins) - swam 2000 metres - walked back (40 mins), burnt around 800-850 kcals according to an online calculator
A very large brandy, after a pleasant meal of chicken (only with cheese, and chips).
Does ironing for one and a half hours count?
Morning: I walked from home to downtown, there and back again (like 80 minutes in a row, plus the time and distance walking within downtown while doing errands).
Afternoon: I walked from home to university, there and back again (another 80 minutes in a row, plus the time and distance walking and climbing stairs within the campus, while doing academic errands :p).
Walked from London bridge to Westminster bridge, taking hundreds of pictures, then did some shopping in Oxford street. In the evening helped my friend to work in the garden.
That deserves a medal! My great-grandfather committed suicide off Westminster Bridge - just thought you'd want to know! Hope you're enjoying London, though. It is a great place to visit!
actively worked out my feelings of guilt for the chicken, spinach and feta pizza I polished off lastnight!
I cycled to town and back home. Then I cycled to the old Autie's who lives a mile or so away. I then broke up her plum tree that had rotted through and fallen over. Great plums too. The I cycled home. I also walked the dog thrice.
A short 30 min bicycle ride. I added a new rear rack and I think I unadjusted my brakes in the process. During my ride it felt like I had a flat, it never occured to me to check the brake clearance until I got most of the way home, sure enough my left brake was rubbing against the wheel.
walk 3km along the beach and then swim in the middle of winter!
Just spent an hour at the gym. My work out today was rowing maching, leg curls, chin ups, treadmill, and abs workout.
strike that. my ride never showed so I've been on the internet ever since.
Does dancing with the broom and blankets whilst making the bed count as keeping fit... If so then that's what I did... hehehehehe
