I've never heard of that. You know, we have chickens and I chop them. When I cut the feet off the kids like to make them dance around like the Rocketts. It's just skin, wierd skin, and bone. Maybe your brother was pulling you leg.

This (showing you as "Online" if you don't log out) only works for about 15 minutes (I think that is the cookie session time here) from your last click on a page because the site is constantly refreshing the "current" activities of Members and Guests; that's what the "Currently Active Users" link is for, to give you a "snapshot" of who's doing what where on the site at that given moment. So as time goes on and your activity stops you drop off that list. But hey, who knows, maybe you will still be "online" at the right time :)

As far as I understand it, clicking the "Remember Me" box when you log in keeps you from having to re-type your username and password every time you visit the site (with a cookie), and is supposed prevent you from having to re-log if you take too long to type a post.

Unless you're "active" and clicking pages, being "idle" for 15 or more minutes drops you off of the list of active users. Admin could probably explain this a lot better than me :p

This is actually what I do whenever I log on. I found that it was very helpful when I was writing out a long entry/post. It will keep you on, too, because I thought I logged off the one night only to discover the following day that I was still logged on.
