Bahh...looks like Ethan Frome. Well, hmm...I was pushing Age of Innocence so badly because little Grace has a stockpile of books she has to read, and that is among them. The fiancee says I cannot buy anymore books (I have that many) until I finish the ones I have :D
Guess I could participate by getting it from the library. But that still leaves one on my list.
But Ethan Frome looks like a good novel so I am not completely abashed.
So I went ahead and reserved a copy of EF for myself this morning... The only copies available (not on loan) were large print so it should be interesting.
Scher, You won't have to strain your eyes:lol:
So EF is the one, right? I will start reading it. Good, I have it by chance. Picked it up free or cheap somewhere long ago. Also, have "Age of Innocense", so unlike last time I am not at a lose how to get the book. Prepared this time.
It is not for sure yet but EF is leading with 14 votes, so it is very likely that we will be reading it.
Re. large print copy: Hopefully it won't be a huge book with 1000+ pages! I don't want to end up straining my shoulders while trying to save my eyes! :D
I am reading it too, but through DailyLit, and I am somewhere close to the end, I think I shall menage to finished it till the beginning of April (I think it would be somewhere between 5th and 10th). And if after all we read The Age of Innocence I have an e-book so I shall be on time for this month's discussion (I have the habit to find the book I should read for the Book Club at the end of the month! I am always late! For example today I saw the Truman Capote's book on my book shelf, I have no idea I have this book and have had a long tour through the book stores searching for it in vain, and the book was there and I haven't seen it at all    )
I've been willing to read the house of mirth but it looks like that Ethan Frome is going to be the winner. So, why don't I follow whomever wins and read it ?
i've already taken Ethan Frome out from the library. it's only 80 pages :) i thought it was a long novel. I'll start reading it this weekend :)
I still have faith that Age of Innocence can win. :p :p :p ;)
Is there going to be a forum discussion afterwards on the book that gets selected?
Hello Bouquin! :)
We choose a book and then read/discuss it with the other members during the following month. The book of our choice does not get chosen at times but it is still a lot of fun as it gives us a chance to read things we wouldn't normally pick ourselves.
Hope you will be able to join us for the Wharton reading! :)
