I disagree, I think Henry Crawford was not for Fanny. Indeed I think he is not for anyone. He would have been good for Fanny at first but it is in his character and at one point in his life we would have missed the playing and making girls fall in love with him. This being a married man would have led to an unhappy marriage.

Anne Elliot - Because I can relate to being an older (myself age 38) lady, a spinster, with regrets about the way she handled her early relationships by being easily manipulated by friends and family.
