Swiss guards are really cute :) Just like the Guardians in England.
I know you're all probably fed up with reading about the death of the Pope but you know, here in Poland the stuff really depresses us. You can see it while just wandering through the city. Flags everywhere, and the people all extremely sad. I've never seen something like that before. Till the funeral there's national mourning and on TV the Pope the whole time is showed. I wish there was sense in all this

A fella (he's a .com millionaire) in the states goes into an airport for a flight, the attendant at the counter asks him for his i.d., he declines, she says it's the law, he says show me the law, she (and anyone else) can't...now he's in supreme (me thinks) court fighting this lack of law which is a law, about carrying identification to fly. I'm thinking, what a waste.

Ok, this thought is not exactly random. However it is the only thought that has been in my head since Sunday.

What the hell is wrong with people in Glasgow? I am currently truly ashamed to say that I am a fan of Glasgow Rangers Football Club.
They have always been associated with protestantism, however I overlooked the years of refusing to sign players of the Catholic faith. I didn't pay attention to it because I was far more interested in just watching the games.
Once I became a little older, I began to understand the references being made in the songs, like the battle of the boyne; King William of Orange; being up to their knees in fenian blood. Once I understood these references I stopped attending the matches, only watching on TV from then on.
However the events of Sunday have made me physically sick, and I am seriously considering stopping paying attention to the team.
During their match on Sunday, sections of the crowd seemed to take extreme pleasure in singing about how the Pope was dead. This was completely beyond the realm of acceptable behaviour in society (even in Glasgow where society has become nearly non-existent) I had expected some chants due to the contingent of moronic, bigoted, generally insane "fans"(often they are supporters of the likes of Ian Paisley) who come over from Northern Ireland to watch the games. The volume of the songs however make me quite sure that it was not a minority involved.

My commiserations. I've always been intrigued by Scottish football. Like the religion of Glasgow, it all seems to be about two teams. Which makes life rather boring for the likes of Hearts or Hibs or Aberdeen. Being an atheist, Gretna are probably the natural analogy for me (despite their great achievements this year, they only manage to muster a thousand or so fans for a game).
But, to get back to your point. It does appear rather pointless to me to have a religious faith that glories in the sufferings of people with other beliefs.
I suddenly remember this day, when this lady came to our house and brought along a small radio. It seemed that she was selling it to my mother in need of money. I was still 6 years old at that time. Me and my brothers were so excited since we have no other entertaiment at home at that time. My mom bought it and she said "Now we can hear great Christmas songs and music this year".
OH yeah! First day of golfing for me this year. Sunny, 17degrees celcius (not exactly 'steamy", but, swinging a club, smashing something white and defenceless, kinda feels like the baby seal hunt.........
Funny, sub, as I can partially relate to this story. The first time I saw a cellular phone, I remember wandering through my downtown home city, Portland, and a very distinguished, clean-cut looking man in a nice business suit passed us talking into what looked like a large gray-colored brick with a black antenna. Being only a child, I pointed at the cell phone, tugging my mom's hand, and loudly asked, "mom, what is that thing?" "It's a portable cellular phone," she replied.Quote:

I agree Ajoe, some people like to say they have read books just to be kind of snobbish and up to date. I haven't read the Da Vinci Code but know someone that has and they thought it interesting enough, but a bit too long and full of impossible coincidences - not the best book in the world.
I have just finished reading a book called Forever Today by Deborah Waring. It is about a man who has had his memory almost completely wiped out by a virus. The only thing he remembers is his wife and that he loves her. Every moment is the one he just woke up in. He keeps a diary to keep track if his days but can't understand the former entries where he has written that he just woke up. Because he doesn't remember being awake then, so he thinks the entry is wrong...even though he might have written it only a couple of minutes before.It is a true story and I couldn't put it down. It's impossible for such a story to have a happy ending, but miracles do happen and the book does have a happy ending.

Hey Fool, can’t help you too much with ellipses, (or para-bolas or hyper-bolas for that matter). ‘Bout all I remember from calculus is: although the Taylor Expansion Theorem wouldn’t necessarily solve an integral equation – it’d get you close enough.
sheesh, I wish I could remember. unfortunatley my favorite calc book is packed iin a box somewhere in another state.
