oops...should I rephrase that?
Here’s sort of a random thought. I got this from Harpers Weekly Reader; they got it from the Shreveport Times.
“In Shreveport, Louisiana, police arrested a man in a wheelchair for shooting a man on crutches who apparently hit the accused over the head with a crutch.”
LOL! I mean, how awful. :p People are just violent, I guess.
Oh, I missed Koa leave! :( Oh well, have lots of fun, Koa! :D  England is a nice place.
:bday_2: to you,
:bday_2: to you,
:bday_2: ravana...
:bday_2: to you!
(and many mooore!)
ooops!!!!!
sorry to have missed this ravana: :bday_2: :) :bday_2: :) :bday_2: :) :bday_2: :)
a child said to me the other day (i'd pointed to the dragonflies above the pond):
"the Dragons are flying."
this was said as if he'd learned a lesson, and was making sure that i knew as well that dragons do, indeed, fly.
I MUST rant to someone, I got a virus on my computer and while there could have been a lot more damage, it seems that all of our digital pictures are infected and I don't know if we can retrieve them!

There must be a couple hundred pictures from the past five years. My avatar, which must be saved on this site or something, is the only remnant of these pictures until we can figure out if they're retrievable or not.

For anyone who's seen the movie Clue, just think of Mrs. White giving her "flames on the side of my face" speech, and that's how I feel.
*deep breath*
Thank you for listening...or reading...you're as good as a therapist.
i missed my friend's bday celebration some time ago :( :( and today my other friend is haviing a bday and i'm afraid i'd miss it again this time...(damn job !!!)
Like your new avatar, sub. Sorry about your friend's birthday!
Are your pictures OK now nome?
Sorry, sub. Hope it works out.
The only small problem I have right now is that ants seem to have made a new anthill in my garden. Right on the lawn. So I´m trying to figure out if I should kill them all , commiting mass ant murder, or live and let live.
I´m a vegetarian and do not really like to kill living beings. On the other hand - they bit me first! And I think they eat my plants. Oh, the agony of ethical dilemmas :-).
A friend has a lizard that eats ants. Perhaps I can borrow that one and let nature have it´s course. That´s the "Live and let a lizard kill them all sollution"
yea, it's pretty spooky to have some small creatures yet there are thousands of them making nest around your home. but isagel if u borrow the lizard, dont' you think that u do intend to kill those ants though indirectly..i mean u put it there intentionally :)
and i'm trying to be a vegetarian some time ago but failed :( well not really failed, i mean i only eat fish now..how did u do it anyway?
CHeers
I can just accidently drop the lizard on the ants? Ooops .
I saw this documentary about slaughterhouses and the cruel way they treat animals.
Then I thought,"well - carrots are rather tasty".
isagel, chances are very good that your ants are not eating your plants but they will probably be farming aphids somewhere in the neighborhood. as a rule, ants follow a single path to and from their farm, so maybe try and follow them to see where they are going.
ants and aphids work similar to humans and cattle.
aphids suck sap from your plants (roses especially, but also some garden veggies and other ornamentals) but when they tap into the plant they actually take more fluid from the plant than they can digest, so they secret a honey like stuff from their backsides....
anyhow, the ants LOVE this stuff, so they will protect the aphids from predators and ensure them a source of food in exchange for this "honeydew" (that's what the secretion is called). sort of a symbiotic relationship between them, but negating all of your work in the garden, as the aphids will literally suck the plant dead.
if you actually have that going on there, i would reccomment a little diotomacious earth, which is a dusty type powder that you can sprinkle around the anthill generously. it is completely biological in origin and perfectly harmless to pets and children and the environmnet. it is actually ground up diatoms (so like oyster shells, but not quite). anyhow you could literally eat this stuff with a spoon, if you so desired and it wouldnt do you any harm. however, when the ants crawl across it, which they must if you put it in their path, then it is too abrasive for them, and does permanent damage to their bellies. (do you need more details??). you must reapply the powder every time you get a good rainfall, or wind.
as far as killing other creatures, bear in mind the whole circle of life theory. and really if you are protecting your food source there is nothing malicious in that. animals would do the same, but with less compassion. do what you have to do.....
if all else fails you could be walking through your yard with a huge pot of boiling hot water mixed with cayene pepper and stumble and accidentally spill the whole thing on their hill..what shame.....but accidents happen, dont they?
thus speak an ants researcher.
Isagel, the thing is i often wonder do plants also scream when farmer take them from the grounds, but we juct can't hear them..? :rolleyes"//// or am i having too much imagination?
