What is the last movie you saw? and rate it.

Ok, I've seen a few films recently so here goes.

War Of The Worlds: Awful, dreadful etc. too much time/money wasted on damned special effects, too little devoted to telling a truly great story. Not to mention I had to sit through Tom "cant act for peanuts" Cruise, I shouldnt have wasted my money. 3/10.

Batman Begins: I'm not really into the batman stories (was more Marvel than DC), however this was good, despite being predictable at times. I also wont begin to get started on the flaws in the weapon used by the bad guys at the end. 6/10.

Wedding Crashers: Hilarious, I think Owen Wilson is a brilliant actor and Vince Vaughn (who I dont normally like) was good also. The hunting scene is superb. 9/10 (btw, did I mention I met Rachel McAdam a few weeks ago? one of my friends at college went to school with her sister and they were up at a party one weekend)

The Fantastic Four: Ok, so some things were changed from the comic books, but the essence of the story was still there. Again a cameo from God (Stan Lee). Good interaction between the actors. I liked it anyway. 7/10

I feel like I have watched a lot of movies lately.
Earlier today I watched Fahrenheit 9/11, one of the many documentaries by Michael Moore. His work never ceases to amaze me; I have managed to watch all of his films, as of today, watching this one, and felt genuinely satisfied. I know we cannot discuss politics on this forum, which I fully understand, but I can see why many people would either love or hate this movie (for me, the former). Hence, I suppose all I can say without touching on the matter of modern politics, concerning this film: "I concur!"
My rating: 10/10 (easily).

Steamboy- anime by the filmmaker who did Akira. I liked this a lot. It's set in the year 1866 when steampower is the dominant tool for technological advancement. Beautiful imagery and a great story and characters (particularly a little girl reminiscent of Scarlett O' Hara).
Also Hotel- very, very odd and slightly chilling. Quite erotic with good acting by a large A- list ensemble.

These last two days I'v seen two films, "Land of Dead" and "Dream Catcher". What I can say is just never see this kind of films after dinnar. You may to through out all what you ate.But in general, they are good films, especially the latter with. The end of the film made me laugh. So, enjoyable that all I can say.

Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

I like it.I consider the movie incomparable to the original because it differs in more ways than one.It's also closer to the book.I also liked the humor and music of the film.

Mockingbird don't sing. A true story about a young girl so much abused and kept away from the world that she never learned to speak. She is locked away in a room from her first to her 13th birthday. Beaten and deprived of everything. "The worst case of child abuse the officers who found her had ever witnessed". The social isolation, neglect and abuse harm her for life. She never recovers. I have seen the 'true images' of Katy when I was a student.. The images always haunted me - a striking young woman with an awkward way of behaving and no capacity to make full sentences and express emotions. In the movie she seemed a bit more healthy and accomplished then on the tapes I watched..
But the little girl that plays her does so remarkably well. And the story is very heartbreaking :bawling: . Right now I am really angry at her terrible parents :redface: .
And I try to imagine what it would be like to be Katy - terribly abused and not able to share your story. To make yourself heard. To take a stand. Brandished a victim for life, because no-one learned you to socially interact in a normal way. Takes my breath away.
Rating: 7/10 (just a 7, because the shots and lighting of the film aren't very imaginative).

Chocolat with J.Depp and J. Binoche (don't confuse it with Charlie and the Chocolate Factory also with Depp). I liked it a lot, there's a pretty fantastical atmosphere, a little bit like in Amelie. And nice music. 8/10

I went to see the Dukes Of Hazard last night. I used to watch the show all the time growing up...infact I still watch it now. The film was brilliant, my only problem was a couple of casting issues: Firstly Boss Hogg is meant to be a little fat guy, I think Devito would have been perfect. Secondly Sheriff Roscoe was a wimp in the original series, the actor playing him looks too mean. Finally Daisy Duke should be a brunette, I am sure they could have found a brunette who is equally as vacant as Jessica Simpson. Overall though I still really enjoyed the film. 8 YEEEEEEEHAAAAAWSS out of 10.

Last night, I watched Drugstore Cowboy, one of Matt Dillon's earlier (and better) films, with an admirable appearance by William S. Burroughs. I have intended to see this for years, its setting being in my home city in the late 1980's, and a great part of the film taking place only a few miles from one of my previous houses. I loved the movie - twisted plot, similar to several other drug films of its contemporary day.
My rating: 8.5/10. :)

Sin City! Great film!!! 9/10

Wow! I've actually been watching good movies recently... :D

Earlier this evening, I watched a dark, Irish comedy called Waking Ned Devine. What a hilarious plot of a man dying from shock while winning the lottery, and others, in the man's small village, trying to claim his winnings! I got a fairly good laugh out of the movie, though some parts seemed slightly predictable, but very entertaining.
My rating: 9/10.

This morning, I watched a 1945-made film version of Oscar Wilde's The Picture Of Dorian Gray. I saw it advertised, and could not resist, despite my neverending fear of seeing films made after very respecting, classical literature. The movie remained generally close to Wilde's created plot, but wandered with a few unnecessary details, leaving other admirable details out, especially some considering Sibyl Vane; regardless, the characters who played Lord Henry and Basil performed beautifully, but a few parts disappointed me.
My rating: 7.5/10.
