The oldest recorded chess game takes place: Francesco di Castellvi, a lord of several towns in the area of Jativa and Valencia, Spain and advisor in the Aragonese court of King Ferdinand plays Narciso Vinyoles. He was one of the co-authors of the 'scachs d'amor' (Chess of Love), a Catalan poem that describes the first modern game of chess.
