John Prine's one of a group of guitar-led, blues-fed artists, who I know I ought to like but who just strike me as kinda...worthy. This guy has just won X Factor, which is the Brit equivalent of America's Next Top Pop Star or whatever it's called. Whatever you may think of the show - and I'm not a fan - all that matters is the guy's voice, which is extraordinary. I may find myself buying his records, and I never thought I'd say that about someone who emerged from a show such as this. He can even persuade me to listen to this song.
