Niamh - I don't know if it will be of any help to you but the Beeb did a programme about the ancient kingdom of Benin only a couple of weeks ago in their series lost Kingdoms of Africa: if you didn't see it, maybe you could catch up with it on iPlayer. There was quite a bit about the Benin bronzes, how they were made, what they signified etc (and the presenter was quite a dish......stop it, kasie, behave!)Quote:
