You forgot Alexis Bledel! even though she had a small part, she's actually the only reason I watched it to begin with. I had no idea what was I in for, but it was a rather pleasant surpise. I'm sure the fans of the comic would love it, and it did kept me watching. I mean, bullets don't seem that dangerous after that movie eh?
Mark F-- about Memento, I completely agree with what you wrote; although I still give it a 10.
About the other movies mentioned:
"Wit" was... well, as expected, the dialogue was witty, Emma Thompson wonderful, but in whole the movie was sorta depressing... I found myself doing other things while listening to Emma's monologue.
The Grudge... Sarah Jessica Geller proved she is an awful actor. The scares were top-notch, but the ending and dialoge inept.
Oh... and Troy was excellent, I loved it.

War of the Worlds 3/10, the only good thing are the SFX.

Late last night, I happened to watch Elf, though we remain far from Christmas time. I thought the movie ridiculously funny, but precisely what I expected. I loved Will Ferrell in the classic Saturday Night Live episodes, and the movies inspired by it. I assumed Elf would seem very similar, but I found it slightly different from the other of Will Ferrell's acting movies - very funny, regardless.
My rating: 7/10.

Tonight we just watched Hostage with Bruce Willis and it was awesome. 9/10

Dark Water: 4 out of 10
- Shoddy plot
- Where's the scare? It's definitely not in the water.
- Too much like the Ring, which in my opinion, isn't that good to begin with.
I'm glad I went to the matinee; I would hate to think that I might have paid seven dollars to see it.

A Very Long Engagement 9.5/10
French film by the same director as Amelie and starring the same girl. One of the best all around movies I've seen recently. Great story, dialogue, and visually awesome.

The Shawshank Redemption, not as good as the book but still quite good. 7/10

12 Angry Men, this film is very theatrical, it all happens over a very short lapse of time and in a confined area as a jury debates whether a young man is innocent or should be strapped to the chair. Some excellent acting from all the 12 main actors. Check this one out 7.5/10

Late last night, I finally watched The Day After Tomorrow - a film featuring all imaginable natural disasters occurring simultaneously, due to phenomena like global warming, magnetic shifts, melting of the polar ice-caps, and changes in wind patterns. When this film first appeared in theatres, I remember taking an environmental sociology course in college, so I had already heard much of it, and we had learned much of the studied crises in the movie - a very depressing class. Incredible movie, anyway, but very sad to think that such phenomena have seemed to begun, only not to such an extreme.
My rating: 9/10. :)

I just watched The Village by one of my favorite screenwriters and directors, M. Night Shyamalan. His work never really ceases to amaze me, especially with the surprise endings. With The Village, I began watching with fairly high expectations, having loved The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, and Signs; it started similar (slowly), but quickened the pace in plot very quickly and surprisingly.
My rating: 9.5/10.

At the cinema the last film I saw was Madagascar, I actually thought it was very good; My favorite characters were Melman the Giraffe [basically a David Schwimmer as a Giraffe] & King Julian the Lemur [voiced by Sacha Baron Cohen]. There a some more adult jokes/references in there so don't be afraid that it's just for small children, even my boyfriend found it amusing. We're now addicted to King Julians rendition of I like to move it

Goodbye Lenin 4.5/10. The idea was good but poorly exploited. The directing was bad.
