I feel the same way, and it must be the way he talks. He's a fabulous actor and I can watch his movies (such as Down in the Valley, American History X, The Score, Primal Fear and of course, Fight Club) and be amazed by his talent and yet still totally unattracted to him. He's probably one of those secretly attractive people - like you'd never guess until you're taken by surprise. Those are always the hardest to get over, I would guess.Quote:

Have you seen The Painted Veil? I think that's the one that did it for me...no, actually it was Red Dragon (years ago!). Hmm. I know what you mean. Actually I don't think he's particularly good looking, but there's this underlying intensity which I find really attractive. I love his voice! So yes, I think you're right about the secretly attractive. That's the way I see it anyway.Quote:

LadyWentworth, Yes, yes, yes! I can't get enough of him as Father Michael. I wish I had a better print of the film. Since I got my new TV and new DVD/VHS combo upconverting player, my old tape looks like mud on it. I was so disappointed. I have tried fiddling with settings but it just won't come out right. I want to see it again and now put up with the dark murky picture. I need it on DVD, but I just can't find it at a reasonable price. I could buy it from the Amazon UK site perhaps, in Region 2 format, since I do own a Region 2 player. I happen to love this film. I know a few things aren't exactly realistic but I love the ending and I love the love scenes, very tastefully done. How can Branagh exude such sex appeal mearly kissing a hand? I just crumble at that scene in the old mill. You can view that scene on Youtube...at least, last time I looked it was there.Quote:

Equality, I like a few of those guys too....let's see Josh Groben, have liked him for awhile now. He is just adorable and so sweet and he sings beautifully. I have a few of his albums.
I like Clive Owen a lot, he and Sean Bean are very sexy men. I find Gary Oldman very appealing in certain films. Recently, I saw this young fairly unknown actor I think I have now fallen in love with - Jame Murray. I also find Hugh Dancy adorable, very appealing. He starred in "Daniel Deronda".

Oh, who cares about reality? It is a movie! :D One that I didn't expect to ever see and ended up really liking. Well, I think there is something extremely attractive about his character. I think that Kenneth knows how to work well with that. I think the character, his performance and the way he looks in there all helps to make him even more desirable. I really don't know how to get more into what I am saying without giving the story away, which I won't do here. :) I can watch Region 2 DVD's on my computer. So I may buy that DVD at some time. I already have a list that I plan to get from AmazonUK. I didn't know it was on DVD over there. So it has to be something that I can add on to my AmazonUK wishlist. :D I really do wish I could see that again. He is just too good to be true in that film.Quote:

The film extras on my DVD suggested the MGM site: www.mgm.com It is a very cool site. You would like it a lot. I just looked at the "Valkerie" previews - wow, that looks really good; the filming is beautiful. Branagh plays a German, part of the conspiracy to assinate Hitler. Tom Cruise stars. Now normally, I am not a big Cruise fan, but I have liked him in a few films through the years. He actually looks very much like the real life guy who tried to pull this off. I have to say, from the previews, this film looks to be excellent. I read a lot, too about the conspiracy and it is fascinating. It comes out in December. I would really like to go to the theater and see it; it looks to be amazing on a large screen format. I think true stories and I am always trying to figure out just what was going on in Nazi Germany so this film fascinates me.
