What is the last movie you saw? and rate it.

Definitely corny at times, but that's the fun of it...and it has it's charm and I love it...I think it gets better after more viewings...of course, talking about 'African Queen'. I also saw that Bogie film recently. He did win the Academy Award for his performance I believe. I watched some extras told about that.

I wanted to thank Neely for suggesting that great documentary on YT. Have you seen "The Future of Food" on Hulu or on DVD? I also highly recommend "Food, Inc."....all tie in with the big corporation idea and how our food supply is being greatly threatened. Another good film is "Dirt" which is about the importance of our 'living soil'. The Indian woman spokesperson in the film I viewed last night, is prominent in this film, about sustainable food supplies. She's an amazing individual.

I need to see it again and I wasn't sleepy! The plot is very thick anyway. I read one review and it said don't even worry about the plot too much the first time, just sit back and enjoy the style. I'll definitely have to look into the set, the African Queen sounds like fun.

True, that, Janine! But somehow she looked cleaner. Maybe it was the fact that she wore white, or maybe it's because she was a lady (say it with a cockney accent, like that other Hepburn might have :)).

Clint Eastwood made a movie about the making of The African Queen. It's called White Hunter, Black Heart, which is considered quite decent. I think you all can imagine who the white hunter with the black heart is.

4 Months, 3 weeks and 2 days. A Romanian movie. It is excellent, but not for the faint of heart. 9/10

Mother. A Korean movie. I liked it, but found it a little unsettling. 8/10

Ha, ha. We took the kids to see it this afternoon. I can't say I'm a fan of Disney, but Mrs Neely enjoyed it as did the kids.

Currently watching Doubt.

Just watched the movie "Inkheart." I hated the book, (the English translation is styllisticaly pitiful, but the plot wasn't too bad.) I figured that the movie could do a lot with the idea, which is why I watched it with high expectations.
The movie was a jumble of sentimentality, poor CG, and bad acting. I could feel my IQ dropping as I watched it...I only lasted through the first half hour.
For the sake of your sanity, (not to mention your IQ xD ) don't waste your life.

I like the movie mostly because of the pleasant memories it brought back, I think; otherwise, there were some cringy-worthy scenes but over all good fun: 7/10

The "African Queen" wasn't in the set unfortunately; however my library owns it and it is great fun. I think the set is more geared to the mysteries or intrigues and features both Bacall and Bogie together. It was quite cheap on Amazon at the time I sprang for it...before Christmas.

I found "Dirt" on Hulu as well. Love that Hulu. Sad only the US can get it. They have such great documentaries.

True and I get your point about accents. She was a lady and a spinster at her age, or so he said at one point, didn't he? I think that white dress got a bit mucky as the story progressed....then, they matched a little better....haha

The funny thing is that, although I don't do texting, the first time I saw it I immediately deciphered it, as I had seen shortened versions of it such as ROF and LMAO in YouTube comments. I don't think the code breakers at Bletchley Park would have had much trouble with it although I doubt if it was the sort of thing used by the Germans for the Enigma code in WW11.
Suffice it to say that the first part means 'Rolling on floor....'

P.S. I've just Googled it if you don't want to bother with the rest of it.

I suppose this was only to be expected.
