Hello everyone Iam also new to this community
I hope to share lots of treasures here with you!
See you later:driving:
Hello. :)
er, I'm 36, and live with my hubby and little boy. I am not really what you would call a writer, I am an artist/illustrator. Apart from illustrating books in the sense of creating a picture to go with the text, I produce/reproduce old manuscripts/documents with illumination and/or calligraphy. A lot of my work involves this type of illustration (so I apologise in advance, I am terrible with the computer and internet, and am much more at home with a quill/pen/brush/pencil :D )
I love the old classics, Dickens etc and I do tend to veer more towards the Victorian writers as opposed to other periods of time. I have tried to read modern lit, but it just doesn't do it for me.
I love anything to do with King Arthur, (makes sense really, living in Cornwall, and am lucky enough to live not that far away from Tintagel), lots of inspiration for me for all my illustrative needs. It pretty much makes sense, that in order to be an illustrator, I do indeed have a big interest in books, and do read a lot ;D
I love watching documentaries (particularly anything to do with history), and I love being outdoors, I go walking quite a lot.
I can't think of anything else to write :S Apart from I am quite shy, and I may not post stacks and stacks, only when passionate on a subject/book ;) I am not one of these people that MUST interact on a daily basis without fail. Hope to have some interesting convos and poss make some interesting friends on here. :)
Welcome all! :)
Glad to see so many interesting new people on board!
Hello everyone,
I'm a 20 year-old guy from Portugal who has been reading this forum for a long time and finally decided to join. It's interesting to find out how different people have different interpretations and take different lessons from the same book. That's why I always try to read other perspectives given by other readers here in the forum.
Hi! I'm Caitlin. I live in Scotland and I like books. That's pretty much it.
It's nice to (kind of) meet all of you!
Hi everyone, how are things with you'll. I am new to this forum. I want to learn and share many wonderful things about literature..Love you all
Hello everyone,
I just joined and I'm hoping this will be a good place to start getting some on the things I write more exposure. I'm an artist really. I do color pencil drawings, but when you sit there all alone with yourself creative ideas flow out which can't be denied so you write them down. I like to travel. I love Charlie Chaplin. I have most of his shorts, now all I need are his longs. I like music, Blues, Swing, Rock-A-Billy, early Rock and Roll, and British Invasion Progressive Rock bands. I've written a story about one of them which I hope to share with you soon.
I am happy to join The Literature Network Forum..
Hello there!
I think this is the third time I've tried to make a user here, but it's the first time that it actually worked...technology and I don't make good friends, sometimes.
I'm in highschool, and sorta-kinda-maybe want to be an English teacher.
Musicals and books are the things that keep me sane :)
Although I HATE the current vampire/werewolf craze, I'm reading Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Once that's done, I'm going to read Inferno.
Nice to meet you!
Hi everyone,
I'm a medical student in the US and I like to read for pleasure in my spare time. Currently reading "Be Not Content" by william craddock. Memorable recent book: "Feast of Snakes" by Harry Crews.
I joined because for years I've been trying to track down a short story I read in high school, for which I have neither title nor author...we'll see if anyone knows it. Great to meet you all!
Hi, I'm new to this and have absolutely no idea as to how it works.
The actual reason I'm on here is because I was thinking about this book i read as a child and I can't remember the title but I remmeber the general plot of the story. I saw that someone else posted the plot of a story and got the title they were looking for. So I was wonder if you can help me, on where I can post this, or if I can do it right here :)
Thanks,
:blush5: fresh off the boat newbie
hello every one in this community, looking forward to the activities here...hope you all will support me... thank you.. :yesnod:
Hello, I am an avid reader who is tired of finishing a book and not having anyone to talk to about it!
I came to this forum after finishing The Island by Aldous Huxley. Funnily enough, The Island does not have it's own thread under the "Specific Books" category so I still have not satisfied that need.
I usually alternate between reading a classic, contemporary lit, political non-fiction, and literary junk-food. Right now I am reading Dean Koontz's 77 Shadow Street as my junk. It might be the worst book I have read in years! I don't know if I can finish it and I ALWAYS finish the books I start (except Moby Dick is still hanging over my head... but I started it when I was 12 so can you really blame me?!).
My favorite author is Mark Twain. My favorite book is Les Miserables. Until today I would have said my favorite guilty pleasure is Dean Koontz. I have a weakness for Sci-Fi. I love Star Wars and Star Trek, but hate fan fiction. I generally lose patience with any series longer than a trilogy although the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy "trilogy" is my favorite series ever.
I generally won't even start a series unless the author has finished it lest the author die, the series meanders into obscurity, or I forget the nuances whilst waiting for the next book. For example, my husband tricked me into reading Game of Thrones while we were deployed and now everytime a new one comes out I have to read it by his side asking, "Who was Osha again?" "Where the heck is Arya now?" "Catelyn's a what?!" etc.
Oh and did I mention that I can be a bit long-winded...? :)
