Beau, I think you have a great talent to mix color shades and lights, and your friend is an awesome sketcher too, whoever your friend is. A toast to both of you http://smiles.kolobok.us/standart/drinks.gif

I dled the freeware 3d modeller "Blender", which is a lot better than Bryce :)
Some stuff i am working on (a medieval English set)

That's great Beau! :) You have a way with gradations that is quite tremendous. And that particular blue - Sapphire! Sorry to hear about your laptop screen :(
Blender you say Kyriakos? There's certainly an apparent level of detail in the grass and bushes I don't recall in your Bryce ones. Actually it overall looks brighter too.

:)
Yes, Blender is better for modelling, that is certain.
Some medieval English stuff:

Thanks, Max and Mystyry! You two are sweethearts.
Nice renderings, Ky.
Mystyry, that is fantastically spooky! I really like the layering and shadows.
Thank you, your drawings are very good too :)

Coolness Kyriakos!
I've been playing with textures, skies and simple primitives
http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...tyry/cones.jpg
Nice texture there :)
I think you are using too alien colors though- probably you intend to, but it makes one focus on that instead of the actual composition ;)
Anyway, here is the finished set:

And their definitive version:

:)
Would you consider this to be an improvement or not?

There's more detail into it, I think
Blender downloaded and installed some days ago. Looking absolutely appealing. Much before that, DAZ Studio also downloaded and installed upon Mystyr's recommendation. Still haven't gotten around to doing anything 3D though, as time's a tyrant that doesn't seem to ever grant some learning space
Now, the 3D world really seems time-demanding in terms of its learning process.
Anyway, one way or another I feel eager to land a fleet on a few of Mystyr's colorful planets  (I'd say the alien colors mentioned above are intended to emphasize that they are not earthly landscapes).
Because I'm starting to feel strange about being the only one still posting in the music thread haha. I'm trying, well sort of trying, I'm getting interested in performance-listening. Because listening to music is very third party and can be dull. It's an interesting challenge to take the atmosphere of musical plays and put it into a recording.

"Captain Cupcake sittin' on my brain
kinda restin' smokin' cigarettes
one legged giraffe lifts me up upon the tree
where alligator-owls fly with Icarus wings
to the gold cotton-candy-star fallin' from the sky
screamin' through cloud-oceans "god I hope we die"
sadistic suicidal semi-sort of okay life
it's the world that we live in when we can't see eye to eye
skittle-pissin' rainbows: the topic of disease
hijacked gorilla-airplanes spawned from vacant trees
silver-coin-tornadoes twisting all the fiends
falling to the ashes of hope, success and dreams
blacklisted religious outcasts bombing others of the same
explosive sunflower-biscuits for the presidential bees
national mythologies: candy-apple lies
it's a product of a world that can't see eye to eye"
Here is some instrumental I did last night.

Man, I really do need to get on more often. I still haven't been able fix my laptop completely..and I've been busy with trying to find a job. And a million other things! X_X
Anyways, I'm not sure if I posted this one. It's another joint effort. Someone drew, and I added color. :) It's called "Look":

Nope, you hadn't posted this one before or I would remember... I think so :p
It looks supreme as everything you do Beau!
And also cheers to the co-artist who drew it!
Good work Kyriakos! :)
Ditto Revolte! :)
Thankyou Max! :)
Looking good Beautifull! :)
I don't know if this qualifies as 'Art', just thought I'd add some colours to the zebra photo I posted on StephOfTheNight's birthday thread. I thought it might make an interesting album sleeve:
http://i1134.photobucket.com/albums/...brasparty3.jpg
I would say that changing colors must be a form of art. It has its touch, like the zebras are dressed especially for a special occasion or something like that.
Thanks Max
too
Thank you Maxey! And Mystyr!
And that definitely looks like art to me, Mystyr! Very nice art. XD I like the colorful zebras. :)
Thanks Beau :) How's the computer situation coming along? I've just been investigating drawing and painting apps for ipad/tabletty things wondering if I should maybe get one.
I've got so many electronic gadgets and thingies already that I try to keep purchases down, which is why I'm slow to adopt anything new, but some of the apps look pretty impressive.
Well, not so well...seems that there's no jobs whatsoever where I live...but someone said they would try to get their hands on a screen for me. But I've managed to find a reaaaallly old monitor that works for now. Only bad thing is that I can't bring it along with me wherever I go.
And I know exactly what you mean about have a lot of electronics. I do to! But I don't know about getting an ipad. They seem like they would break easily...but I would try it out. Seems like everyone likes them. :D
*tear* seems the Artist thread is a little flagging, eh? Wish I had some art to put up, but I haven't been inspired lately to create something...or to colorize something. :/
Maybe i can help :)
Although i have basically almost given up on creating graphics (too little time, have my literature to worry about) here are a couple i recently made:
http://s15.postimage.org/qx5rbi5hn/anubis_statue.png
First one is medieval Japanese, second is ancient Romano-British :)
http://i1005.photobucket.com/albums/...ting-above.gif That's very nice
Don't be sad! http://fc03.deviantart.net/images/i/..._emoticon___v2 I've been working on a few projects for a while, but haven't had the time to finish. Will do and post asap
Although I don't contribute to this thread I very much enjoy all the art works shared here. Hope you'll get some inspiration soon Beau. :)
@ Kyriakos - Those are wonderful graphics. You're a meticulous artist and I guess it takes much time.
@ Max - I'll wait for your post.
Thank you both :)
Welcome
After a good while without making birthday cards, I finally found myself in need of making up something for a friend today. It came out rather fast because I had already been designing swords and flowers separately:
Both of the above art works are as good as you make them. But the first seems more interesting to me. It could be an eye-catching book cover. Thanks for sharing Max. :) I wish I had some free time to learn this art.
Very good Kyriakos, Max and Tony! :)
I've been playing with boolean distortions for different effects:

Looking good everyone. Now I'm sort of like a hobby photographer and I do some minor work/experiments with photoshop so I guess I'll share some of my work with you guys from now on.
Here's a picture that I took during my holiday last summer in Sicily. It's obviously been modified, if anyone is interested in the original I'd be happy to upload it to.
That's a really cool picture, Ric! Welcome to the thread. Looking forward to seeing more from you.
Mystyry, that is beautiful! Other worldly. Strange. I love the moons or planets. You must feel really good about this one!
Tony, wow! I didn't know you could draw like that! Very nice sketch. Good sensibility. I know you work hard, but I dig this creative side of you. Show us some more sometime!
Max, I love the glowiness of your picture. Maybe you could make a glowy picture of me sometime. :)
Great going, all! Very splendid art works. Aliengirl, I'm glad you hang out with us too. Your feedback is so encouraging.
Ahh, I see Tony's been holding out on us !
Is that recent work?
So, Varenne have you been working on any projects lately?
.
Can't wait!
