This one stays in the mind as the introduction to one of the few really worthwhile series shown on UK television.

"O Divine Redeemer" - I'm actually singing it with a CD.
"The Scientist" by Coldplay. Quite a good song, really; just found it.
Not a song, but song-like! The slow movement of Mozart's piano concerto 17. I've been comparing various versions to see if the one I have (Perahia) stands up. I think it does! But this is also good:

This thread should more correctly be called . 'Which tune is in your head', because, contrary to juvenile belief that has had nothing but 'songs' aimed at it rather than instrumentals for the past 30 years, for reasons not fully understood by the listeners, there are other forms of music.
Nonetheless, here is a real song sung by a real singer just so everyone can tell the difference.

Yes... I quite agree with you, Brian. I don't know how often I have cringed when someone asks "What is the name of this "song" and then posts a link to Beethoven's Pathetique sonata, or the Adagio from Mahler's 5th symphony, or one of Bach's Brandenburg concertos. It is rather like the assumption (held by far too many here, even, that "books" always mean "novels". "name your 10 favorite books" always becomes "Name your 1o favorite novels" as if the epic poem, the romance, the play, the lyric poem, the meditation, the essay, the letters, the histories, the autobiographies, etc... never existed... or don't count as "books" or "literature"':mad2:

Just an AMAZING song which I recently learned to play and sing myself (guitar). I've been going around humming on that song the last few days.
