Blurt it out!!!!!
Have you read a greek myth???
Yes
What movie could you watch over and over again?
Sailor Beware by Jerry Lewis. Soooo Funnnny.
What book could you read over and over again?
The Crucible by Arthur Miller. And I cry every time.
What book could you not finish?
None in particular yet. But a book that I would consider to be depressing and sad.
What do you consider to be the best book ever written?
Oh man, that is soooo hard to say. Actually in fact, it is impossible to say. Hamlet and Don Quioxte are obvious choices.
What do you think is Shakespeare's best play?
I love me some Macbeth, however I haven't read them all so I can't really say.
What meal could you eat every day?
Enchiladas with salad... Or lasagna with salad... I think I can eat salad everyday...
How long have you known your oldest friend?
I've known my oldest friend for 8 years.
What is your least favorite food?
Meat... Anything meaty... (Is that a word?)
What is your most favourite food?
Tie between fresh bread and artisan cheese (especially the Niagara Gold variety)
If you had to choose one food to eat solely for the rest of your life with no health consequences, what would you choose?
Lasagna, homemade of course!!!!
Same question?
Potato chips.
We're all hypocrites to some degree. What's your biggest hypocrisy?
Perhaps showing I don't care enough about the people I do really care for immensely.
Same question.
I say I cannot stand stupidity but that is not true; I love stupidity and people who embrace it; they make the world an exciting and fun place.
Yesterday was a good day because...
I read a TON of Hemingway, Faulkner, Fitzgerald and Nabokov :DDD
Today will be a good day becasue. . . . .
I'm going to forget about the past and move on.
Tomorrow will be a good day because...

What's your passion in Life?
Only one? Sorry, can't choose.
Do smiles warm a room up or Carbon Dioxide?
depends, warmth is subjective hence to one person the emotive statement may invoke a sense of 'warmth'. while the other, science in nature does not reflect the opportunity to create heat. simply put heat is the result from the conversion of energy.
In this ageing population, if you could chose an age at which to die (normal physiological and biological ageing occurs i.e. if you say 100, you'll be what a statistically average 100 year old is like) when would it be?
Hmmm, good question, but a tough one! I cannot help but consider the often very deliberate differences between physiological and psychological age, and they frequently appear in elderly age simultaneously; personally, I can think of few things quite as miserable as a loss in psychological health, while the physiological health persists well, as in dementia, individuals with the physiological health of someone in his/her 50's but with cognitive abilities of someone at 100. I could not imagine living in that manner, but have witnessed some amazing cases of 90+ aged individuals with the psychological health and cognitive abilities of someone half that age - something quite inspiring!
Genetically, my family has waged relatively average lifespans, individuals living until their 70's and 80's, with few exceptions, and that sounds fine to me, so long as my cognitive abilities remain intact, rendering me to the capabilities of a toddler. In other words, I do not place so much emphasis upon numerical age, as apoptosis will take its inherent time regardless, and I feel patient enough for that time, but upon psychological health; I would much sooner prefer living like Jean-Dominique Bauby until age 100 than I would live a few years with advanced dementia.
What upcoming holiday do you look forward to most?
Thanksgiving -- by a mile -- it's my favorite holiday for a bunch of reasons:
- That our consumer-driven, materialistic society wants to skip it entirely
- That you don't have to buy worthless stuff for people who don't need it
- That it's reflective (on the past year)
- That it's simple: a traditional meal, family, conversation
I'm sure I could think of a few other reasons too.
EDIT: add to list "football"
What's the last power tool that you operated?
To work. :p
Meh, I volunteered in exchange to have Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve free, but have to work Christmas night; each RN has to work at least one holiday. I have no worries about it, and have already planned a small celebration at my place the Friday after Thanksgiving, already having purchased some tofurkey! Mmmm! :D
Of course this question primarily applies to the shoppers of the U.S. (sorry!), do you start Christmas/Hanukkah/Kwanzaa shopping on Black Friday?
No. I start much earlier -- like the post-holiday sales the year before. I tend to accumulate gifts throughout the year as I think of people.
Do you underline/mark up your books?
Not usually. I try to keep the lines in the forehead, not in the books.
Would you wrestle an angry goat?
I have...actually
Would you play leap frog with that same goat?
I've only been with my girlfriend for the past 6mnths, so I've only recently started saying it. But everytime I look at her, the words seem to have their magical way of creeping out.
what is the most common way you exhibit frustration?
I shouldn't say this, but drink... I drink when I am angry. Sometimes I just lock myself up a home and drink until I sleep.
Like this question, same?
I have learnt that I have a severe cumpulsive disorder to litnet... It's like I just can't stay away...:crash:
scream!!!!!
what's your guilty pleasure?
yes, yes I do. but i'm pretty sure that was aimed at Mary.... just had to add my 2 cents :)
haha not without help. although working with mentally ill patients can make you question reality sometimes. they are the true story tellers, you get some wicked fiction out of them.
do you ever question what you see is actually a learned thought or real (eg, how do you know what the colour red is to you, is the same colour to someone else?)
whoa, do I know what the colour red is to me, is the same colour to someone else?
no I don't...I'll just assume I'm hallucinating...
Is your reality as good as your fantasies?
it's a weird thought hey, how do i know when i say the light is red, is actually seen as what I would call yellow, to someone else.
haha sometimes reality is better than my fantasies, other times I wish I had the life of the characters in my novel, and other times, if my fantasies ever come true, I know a happy death wouldn't be too far off.
do you ever feel that if a fantasy was to come true, that you would be disappointed?
More often than not.
How old will you be on your next birthday?
