why is generic macaroni and cheese so much better than the Kraft stuff?

I just performed in a street science magic thingy. You know, we stood behind a counter with all the nifty science thingies and did things to amaze the passers-by. Quite a lot were amazed. But the stuff we showed was pretty amazing.

Okay, I did study something regarding hydrocarbons. For two hours, but what actually I did study I have no idea except that...well....there was some alkane...and alkene...and you could get alkenes buy cracking alkanes though that surely wasn't all I read read regarding this topic. But why don't I remember?

And there were some other stuff I spent my rest of the day on feeling proud afterwards....but what it was I no longer remember!
